The Youth Center, such as The Learning spaces being a central part of the design, creating spaces that
are social and collaborative, designing for individual differences and motivating for
interaction cross fields, both inside and outside of the educational space. Some of the key
elements pointed out to: make design that shares knowledge among students and the community
through social interaction; making simple and open spaces flexible and
adaptable to multi-purpose use; arranging workspace for multiple sized groups, both inside and
outside; lastly constructing the building and spaces, to be an educational tool in themselves. The use of
timber and vertical green wall will bring the nature together provide a natural warmth within the
building.
THE YOUTH CENTRE: ALLEGRO (SASYA ALYA BINTI ISKANDAR TAN)
The proposal intends to design an eco-friendly building that adapts to its surroundings. ALLEGRO
Youth Centre is a performing arts youth center that gives the youth of ages 10-21 a safe place to
express themselves in any musical form may it be through dance, theater, singing or playing
instruments and is suitable for complete beginners or those who wish to improve their performance
skills to more advanced level in a fun, energetic and creative environment. ALLEGRO brings the
meaning of lively and cheerful which reflect the energy and personality of the youth. Organizing
principle of this Youth Centre using centralized organization with the lobby as a focal point. Rhythmic
principle as seen in the form of the floor plan is achieved by repeating the rectangular shape of the
spaces in a wave-like pattern.
