Part 2: David Prepares the Materials

However, the Most High does not
dwell in temples made with hands,
as the prophet says: ‘Heaven is My
throne, and earth is My footstool.
What house will you build for Me?
says the Lord, Or what is the place
of My rest? Has My hand not made
all these things?’

Acts 7: 48 - 50

“Destroy this temple, and in three
days I will raise it up.” … But He
was speaking of the temple of His
body.

Or do you not know that your body
is the temple of the Holy
Spirit who is in you…?

II Corinthians 6: 19, 20

Now, therefore, you are no longer
strangers and foreigners, but fellow
citizens with the saints and members
of the household of God, having been
built on the foundation of the
apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ
Himself being the chief cornerstone,
in whom the whole building, being
fitted together, grows into a holy
temple in the Lord, in whom you also
are being built together for a
dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

bronze, iron for things of iron, wood
for things of wood.

grace that is given to us, let us use them.

God, over and above all that I
have prepared for the holy house,
my own special treasure of gold
and silver.

Both riches and honor come from
You, and You reign over all.
I Chronicles 29: 12

Thus says the Lord: “You shall not
build Me a house to dwell in. …
Furthermore I tell you that the Lord
will build you a house. And it shall be,
when your days are fulfilled, when you
must go to be with your fathers, that I
will set up your seed after you … and I
will establish his throne forever…. And
I will establish him in My house and in
My kingdom forever; and his throne
shall be established forever.”
I Chronicles 17: 4 - 14

For we dare not class ourselves or
compare ourselves with those who
commend themselves. But they,
measuring themselves by themselves,
and comparing themselves among
themselves, are not wise. … For not he
who commends himself is approved,
but whom the Lord commends.
