The document provides analysis of Vincent Van Gogh's famous painting "The Starry Night". It discusses that the painting was created in 1889 while Van Gogh was in an asylum, depicting the view from his window. It explores Van Gogh's mental state at the time and how his illnesses influenced his artistic style and subject matter. The painting depicts the small town of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence and utilizes colorful, expressive brushstrokes to portray the night sky in a dreamlike manner.
INTRODUCTION:STARRY NIGHT HIDDEN MESSAGE
The Starry Night painting is an oil-on-canvas painting by the Dutch Post-Impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh. Painted in June 1889, it depicts the view from the east-facing window of his asylum room at Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, just before sunrise, with the addition of an imaginary village. It has been in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City since 1941, acquired through the Lillie P. Bliss Bequest. Widely regarded as Van Gogh’s magnum opus, The Starry Night is one of the most recognizable paintings in Western art. let’s discover starry night hidden message.

In creating this image of the night sky—dominated by the bright moon at right and Venus at center left—van Gogh heralded modern painting’s new embrace of mood, expression, symbol, and sentiment. Inspired by the view from his window at the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole asylum in Saint-Rémy, in southern France, where the artist spent twelve months in 1889–90 seeking reprieve from his mental illnesses, The Starry Night (made in mid-June) is both an exercise in observation and a clear departure from it.
The vision took place at night, yet the painting, among hundreds of artworks van Gogh made that year, was created in several sessions during the day, under entirely different atmospheric conditions. The picturesque village nestled below the hills was based on other views—it could not be seen from his window—and the cypress at left appears much closer than it was. And although certain features of the sky have been reconstructed as observed, the artist altered celestial shapes and added a sense of glow.
THEIR THINKING
Van Gogh assigned an emotional language to night and nature that took them far from their actual appearances. Dominated by vivid blues and yellows applied with gestural verve and immediacy, The Starry Night also demonstrates how inseparable van Gogh’s vision was from the new procedures of painting he had devised, in which color and paint describe a world outside the artwork even as they telegraph their own status as, merely, color and paint.
ABOUT VAN GOGH: STARRY NIGHT HIDDEN MESSAGE
Starry Night depicts a dreamy interpretation of the artist’s asylum room’s sweeping view of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. Though Van Gogh revisited this scene in his work on several occasions, “Starry Night” is the only nocturnal study of the view. Thus, in addition to descriptions evident in the myriad of letters he wrote to his brother, Theo, it offers a rare nighttime glimpse into what the artist saw while in isolation. “Through the iron-barred window I can make out a square of wheat in an enclosure,” he wrote in May of 1889, “above which in the morning I see the sunrise in its glory.”
An end-of-the-world cataclysm invades Van Gogh’s Starry Night, one of apocalypse filled with melting aerolites and comets adrift. One has the impression that the artist has expelled his inner conflict..

The Importance Of Skills Approach To Leadership
Leadership is a process where all individuals, the leader and followers, work together to achieve a common goal; it is not any single characteristic of the leader, but an event that occurs between that leader and the followers (Northouse, 2016). Effective leaders exhibit the behaviors of critical thinking, problem solving, priority setting, skillful communication, and respecting and valuing others (Weiss Tappen, 2015). I chose the skills approach, behavioral approach, and servant leadership theory based on how they are defined and the type of leader I aspire to become. I will address the primary concepts of each theory as well as the strengths and weaknesses of my test results along with opportunities for improvement.
Skills Approach to Leadership
The skills approach to leadership emphasizes skills and abilities that can be learned and developed and provides a map that serves as a guideline for achieving effective leadership in an organization (Northouse, 2016). The first skills approach model was proposed in 1955 by Robert Katz and is a three skills approach (Rowe Guerrero, 2016). The three skills in this theory are technical, human, and conceptual. The technical skill is the ability to work with things, conceptual skill is the ability to work with ideas and concepts, and human skill is the ability to work with people (Northouse, 2016). The Mumford model has five elements: individual attributes, competencies, leadership outcomes, career expectations, and

Animal Cruelty Must Stop Essay
Meat is considered to be a go to meal for many at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. What most do not think about is where their burgers or chicken wings are really coming from. Animals live dangerous lives in enclosures and cages, where they are forced to eat and sleep against their own will. Peter Singer discusses some of these issues in his article, Animal Liberation and how this freedom will take time and commitment. Singer talks about the harsh treatments of these farm animals and the factory farming that goes on behind the scenes. He knows that animals cannot express their feelings through words, so their actions should be acknowledged instead. Because the animals are not necessarily kept healthy and taken care of, eating...show more content...When he talks about the sponsors, he says, The contributors to the book may not all see the issue this way. They are a varied group. Philosophers, ranging from professors to graduate students, make up the largest contingent. There are five of them, including the three editors, and there is also an extract from the unjustly neglected German philosopher with an English name, Leonard Nelson, who died in 1972. ... The other pieces are by a psychologist, a botanist, a sociologist, and Ruth Harrison, who is probably best described as a professional campaigner for animal welfare (Singer 205).
It is obvious that there are many different views included in this article and the more opinions, the stronger the argument. Individuals who wrote these articles may not have coincided that they were supporting a liberation movement for a cause such as animal welfare, but all together, they have. There are those that

Essay on The Louisiana Purchase Treaty
In 1803, the Louisiana territory impacted the United States of America with the acquisition of land all across North America. Immediately after the ratification of the present Treaty by the President of the United States...the commissary of the French Republic shall remit all military posts of New Orleans and other parts of the ceded territory to...the President to take possession (United States Web). The Louisiana territory was purchased from the French for fifteen million dollars. This was after the Spanish had sold the territory to France. The Canterbury Tales Essay
The Canterbury Tales
The Canterbury Tales, a masterpiece of English Literature, written by Geoffrey Chaucer, is a collection, with frequent dramatic links, of 24 tales told to pass the time during a spring pilgrimage to the shrine of St. Thomas a Becket in Canterbury. The General Prologue introduces the pilgrims, 29 sondry folk gathered at the Tabard Inn in Southwark (outside of London). Chaucer decides to join them, taking some time to describe each pilgrim.
According to the Norton Anthology, the composition of none of the tales can be accurately dated; most of them were written during the last fourteen years of Chaucer s life, although a few were probably written earlier and inserted into The Canterbury Tales (Norton, 80)....show more content...The Prioress, Madame Eglantine, is a character full of denial. Though she is a nun whose duties should be pledged to God, she certainly considers herself a lady first. She speaks bad French, ate and dressed very carefully, and wears a brooch that says love conquers all. She also cares deeply for animals, bringing several along with her on the pilgrimage. Her lady like behavior seems to stand in direct contrast to the ways of a good Nun. This is Chaucer s first criticism of religion, a theme he returns to throughout the poem.
Like the Prioress, the Monk is also an ironic characterization. The Monk loved to ride horses and hunt. He also eats well and dresses in nice clothes. He even goes so far as to say that he prefers the outdoor life, hardly a statement one would expect from one whose profession entails sitting inside and copying books.
The Friar is a bad guy. He is licensed to hear confessions and uses

The Island Country Of Sri Lanka
The island country of Sri Lanka was engaged in a civil war for more than 25 years. The most basic reason is the conflict that arose between the Sinhalese and Tamil citizens, but it s more than that. In 1948 Sri Lanka gained its independence from Great Britain. Before independence was gained, the island was dominated by the Sinhalese speakers, which were deemed to be on the island since 500s BCE. Also, there were mostly Buddhist Sinhalese, three million of them, and about 300,000 Hindu Tamils. Sri Lankan people seem to have been in contact with Tamil speakers from southern India since at least the second century BCE, but large amounts of Tamils started to appear in Sri Lanka between the seventh and eleventh centuries. When the island was first colonized by Britain, large plantations were settled on the island eventually being used for the production of tea and rubber. After the foundation of the cash crop plantations, approximately one million Tamil speakers from southern India were taken for plantation usage, using them as workers. That only led fuel to the flame of the cultural battles between the Sinhalese and Tamil peoples. Another thing that added to the hatred was that Tamil people were mainly preferred in the bureaucratic sense of the schools that British officials created. This was a common tactic of European rule and left the nations in turmoil after they gained independence.
Sri Lanka was granted independence February fourth 1948 from Britain and the Sinhalese

Conducting Interviews
Conducting interviews is fundamental as a case manager. In order to understand more about good interviewing, I decided to watch an interview about an addict mother conducted by Dr. Phil. While watching this interview, I made some notes on attitudes and characteristics that I considered important for good interviewing. The characteristics will be presented in the following paragraphs.
From the start of the interview I noticed that it is important to have good communication skills and the interviewer should speak with confidence and knowledge about the subject. As everyone knows, Dr. Phil is known as an expert in human behavior and in his show, he conducts interviews or talks to help people with problems. At the beginning of the interview, Dr. Phil presented himself very straight forward and respectfully towards the out of control addict mother....show more content...Phil took control of every situation. He maintains the position and calm while asking questions. I could immediately see that he did not share the same values or principles as the interviewee, yet he did not act against her behavior. Instead, he asked reflective questions so that she could know she was wrong. There were times where the interviewee was a little bit out of control and Dr. Phil calmed her and spoke firmly about her behavior. The interviewer conveys empathy in some ways. For example, told her I understand what you are going through and It is difficult . Those two phrases made me realize that the interviewer feels empathy towards the interviewee.
I also noticed that the interviewer does demonstrate cultural sensitivity towards the interviewee. Cultural sensitivity is very important in t

Unforgettable Incident
UNFORGETTABLE INCIDENT
The memory of that night is etched in my mind till now. After all, that was the most eventful day of my life, which changed the person I was.Everything started on 18th of November when my aunt sent a car to my mother, a beautiful blue Audi, the latest in 2004. It was raining heavily when we received the car. My brother and I were so excited because we planned to coax mom to give the new car to my brother, as she has already had a car and she refused to give hers to my brother. The next day we spoke to my father and he agreed to talk to mom and allowed my brother to have that shining blue car.

The days ended soon, and we are back to our same routine back in city.
Once back to the city, we immediately went back to bed because of the exhausting trip. After few weeks my family and I were planning to celebrate Christmas. We finally ended up celebrating it in our house with the family. I went with my mom to buy some provisions; my dad and my brother went to buy the Christmas tree. That night we decorated the tree as well as the house.
On the Christmas day, we had many people, we could barely step through the crowd, and my mother was busy with her siblings. My brother, sister and I were glad to meet our cousins but we were more than glad to have them gone, because we couldn t wait to discover what Santa Clause had brought for us, since mother refused to let us open the gifts early that morning.

Paper About Myths
Myth in the proper sense is a very rich and deep word; it conveys a reflection of truth. Myths can be true, and they are intended to convey truth even when they are not, strictly speaking, true. Myth is a means of communicating non empirical truth in an oral culture. A working definition of myth is A traditional tale with secondary, partial reference to something of collective importance. (taken from Walter Burkert, Structure and History in Greek Mythology and Ritual [Berkeley: University of California Press, 1979] 23).I will argue that I believe the nature of the world and the role of human beings in the world is slightly justified by the myths that were passed down by generation. In addition, I believe, what survives is not the myth itself,...show more content...And not only that but myths also lie in social media everywhere. People make up stories just for there own collective importance. For example, Bloody Mary that was a huge thing when I was growing up. It was also something that scared me for most of my child hood. Other myths that are still told today are the gods and thunder. However there are also modern myths like blonde women are dumb. That s a myth created by the contemporary US. It is so untrue but for some reason Americans have made that myth of collective importance when either hiring a brunette women or a blonde woman. That myth has no resemblance as I know of to an ancient myth, but when comparing thunder to the gods do resemble ancient

Pay For Performance (P4P)
Pay for Performance (P4P)
Pay for performance in healthcare provides financial incentives to clinicians or hospitals in order to improve health outcomes. Clinical outcomes, such as improved survival, are not easy to measure, therefore pay for performance systems usually measure process outcomes.
There is an ongoing debate whether pay for performance improves healthcare. Even large incentives may not change the way medicine is practised. However, in some observational studies incentives do change the practice of medicine, but even when they do, they do not show to improve clinical outcomes. There is criticism concerning pay for performance for reasons as that it is a technique borrowed from corporate management, where the main outcome of concern is profit, and therefore designed to meet the specific...show more content...P4P rewards physicians, hospitals, medical groups, and other healthcare providers when they are able to meet certain performance measures of quality (indicators for quality) and efficiency. In contrast, it may penalize caregivers for suboptimal outcomes, medical errors, or increased costs.
The small number of studies performed in several large healthcare systems only have shown modest improvements in specific outcomes or quality indicators involved, but often effects are not sustained, and improved outcomes were rarely or not measured[ ]. Moreover, most studies fail to demonstrate reductions in money spend. Although scientific medical organisations and associations have approved some incentive programs, they also have expressed concerns with respect to the validity of quality indicators, patient and physician autonomy and privacy, and increa

Causes Of Civil Wars
Civil wars arise from many causes, all of which are dominated and resistant to change. In order to suggest possible ways of preventing civil wars before they start, it involves finding conclusions of these causes, which is, impossible. Countries all over the globe have had, or are still facing, long running civil wars. To further explain , civil wars happen within a country or state between organized groups (Freeland, Valerie POLI 220, November 16: Civil Wars). Through class readings and topics discussed in lecture, many causes have been argued for these civil wars. Some of these causes include; greed versus grievance, small arms and democratization. While further analyzing these causes it is found through the research that they are dominant and resistant to change, and that the prevention of these civil wars are impossible. Many reasons for this are due to the youth unemployment and their involvement in gangs, trade amongst nations, greed versus grievance, and armed control. Ideas about these causes were explored to overcome a better explanation of the violence being held. There are many cases as well, when civil wars end peacefully, but due to their fragility they relate back to violence, and possibly to a greater degree. Civil wars are nearly impossible to prevent as the causes for them are unpreventable in many underdeveloped countries. Youth unemployment is an issue that many countries are faced with. Its frustration facilitates mobilization (Freeland, Valerie, POLI

Unlike the United States, France had not realized the great significance of this land and all the opportunities it could have potentially opened to their own nation.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

The starry night (Van Gogh)
The persistence of memory (Dali)
Invader (ongoing since 1998)
Starry night:
The starry night is a painting that was made by Vincent van Gogh. It's a landscape painting made in June of 1889. It's an oil painting on a canvas that
he painted while in an asylum after he had a breakdown in 1888. He painted the starry night while he inside of the asylum that he voluntarily went to.
The starry night is one of many versions of the paintings he made. He made many paintings of the view from his room in the asylum in different
weather. Each painting was of the same view however van Gogh managed to make each painting different from each other and they each were unique
in their own separate ways.

The clocks are melting and there is a lot of mystery in the darkness of the painting. The only objects in the painting that don't seem to look strange
is the small tree on which one of the clocks is melting and the mountain in the background. The persistence of memory is supposed to represent
what kind of things are seen when in a dream state in Dali's own memory. I think that the clocks are melting because when you have a dream it feels
like it's a few minutes long however when you awaken from a dream you find that night is gone and the morning is already here, so time does not
really happen in dreams which could be why the clocks are melting as they don't any use.

are the perfect material for that. He began displaying his art in public places on walls, and he started off doing this in Paris. Over time he has slowly

5. My group selected the painting The Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh. Van Gogh painted The Starry Night in 1889 while he was a patient in a
sanitorium in St.– Remy, France. Van Gogh was "an epileptic who suffered from erratic bouts of depression, came to this former
abbey–turned–sanatorium in a futile attempt to ward off the disquieting shadows that haunted him in both his sleeping and waking hours and which
eventually caused him to take his own life" (Billy 44–45). Van Gogh paintedThe Starry Night by using his memory and the view outside of his
sanatorium window. I will be describing line and texture for my elements and pattern and repetition for my principles. I also will be describing
iconography as my additional method.
The first Element of Art that I chose to discuss is line. "Line is a mark with greater length than width. Lines can be horizontal, vertical, or diagonal:
straight or curved: thick or thin" (Getty 1). Van Gogh used lines to move the viewers eyes to different areas of the painting. Also, vertical lines move
the viewer's eyes up to the sky. He used diagonal and curving lines in the sky to move the viewer's eyes toward the largest star in the painting, the
moon. He also uses lines to form the stars and planets in the sky. He uses lines as the focal point in this painting. He does not use any clean shapes, but
instead uses prominent lines to portray his story.
The second Element of Art that I chose to discuss is texture. "Texture is the surface quality that can be seen and felt. Textures can be rough or smooth,
soft or hard" (Getty 1). Vincent can Gogh used heavy brush strokes to portray a rough texture. He also used different textures and lines to make the
cypress tree and the sky almost three–dimensional. He gave the hills lines to make it appear as if it had a rough texture. He used a swirling motion is
the sky to make it appear as if the wind was blowing. Using these texture technique, van Gogh allowed his painting to come alive before the viewer's
eyes. The first Principle of Design that I chose to discuss is pattern. "Pattern is the repeating of an object or symbol all over the work of art" (Getty 1).
The hills have the same pattern that repeat to look like taller mountains. He uses

Trent Arvin Art Appreciation 11 April 2017 Compare and Contrast: "The Starry Night" and "Number 1 1949" When you look at the two paintings;
"The Starry Night" by Vincent Van Gogh, and "Number 1 1949" by Jackson Pollock; there are a few similarities about the meaning of the works of
art. Their background and history are different. These paintings were created in two totally different eras and have different formal and technical
aspects. Saying that, these works of art share no spiritual or moral value. Respectively these paintings have a great history and legacy. Two paintings
created in different time periods have little in common but yet so much in common. In 1949, Jackson Pollock painted "Number 1", he became frenzied

7. What need is there to weep over parts of life? The whole of it calles for tears.
– Seneca
The poem, 'Starry Night', by Anna Sexton, which was interpretation of a personal view for Van Gogh's artwork, "Starry Night". The prophetical nature
of Anne Sexton 's spiritual poetry, Starry Night, ensues the melancholy of humanity. The poem depicts Sexton 's interpretation of the immense
psychological suffering of a "religious" human being. By addressing, Van Gogh 's work caught with a deep understanding of an emptiness of the soul
and also the familiar warfare of his mental distresses. Sexton showcases the shared tiredness of life, by describing religion as an example of extreme
emotional desperation. However, the poem dilutes the attention of many optimistic people who do not share its attire, instead an interpretation must be
attained by those who can have a glimpse of their own eternal suffering. Although, the poetry has tragic finishing, it re–opens for me personally, the
divinity of melancholy.
Everyone is vulnerable and susceptible to the usual heartbreak of life. Anne Sexton ' suicide was only one of many who desperately wanted to achieve
an unrelenting wave of relief. For these existences, depression is like a war, you either win or die trying (Live or Die). "This is how I want to die"().
Anne Sexton is foretelling her battle with morbid sadness that continues to slowly consume, until the person drowns into a sea of burning
anguish."....where one black–haired tree slips up

Vincent Van Gogh was an artist from 1880 to 1890. He was a Dutch painter and was in post–impressionism. Vincent was the famous painter of Starry
Night which was painted in the June of 1889(VVG, A Biographical Study. 56). Vincent was born March 30th, 1853, to the mother Ann Carbentus,
and the father Theodorus van Gogh. His family was in the middle class in the village of Zundert. As he was growing up he showed no artist ability,
and at a young age, Vincent was removed from school. Once he was removed from school he became a junior clerk at the International art dealer
Goupil & Cie. He became one of the youngest clerks at an art dealer at the age of sixteen. With being a clerk he was opened up to many new and

This painting is beautiful. The orange flowers in the corner and blues all around give the painting a very nice warm and cool contrast. The very
soft lines in the stems of the flower give the painting a sense of movement. When I look at the painting I really feel like I am sitting in my
grandma's garden on a nice spring day with the wind blowing so soft. The different color greens give the painting a sense of space and depth
because the farther it goes back the lighter the color becomes. There is no real focal point on this painting, but my eyes are drawn right to the orange
and that gives me a real sense of strength and power. To me, this painting is not just a beautiful sea of flowers, and whatVincent van Gogh was known
for was putting his life experiences in with his paintings. Mary Thompkins Lewis of The Wall Street Journal stated that,
"... Treasured in his own writing, it provided windows into the private struggles, public triumphs, and towering ambitions. That he shaped into his life
and his work."
Van Gogh might have been crazy at the end of his life, but this man did do his best and most famous work at the end of his

9. Analysis Of Van Gogh 's Starry Night Sky
One of Vincent Van Gogh's most world renowned paintings is his landscape oil painting Starry Night. The painting displays a small town underneath an
unusual yet still extremely beautiful night sky. In this night sky, Van Gogh utilizes an array of colors that blend well together in order to enhance the
sky as a whole. The town is clearly a small one due to the amount of buildings that are present in the painting itself. In this small town most of the
buildings have lights on which symbolize life in a community. Another visual in Starry Night is the mountain like figures that appear in the
background of the illustrious painting. Several things contribute to the beauty of Van Gogh's painting which are the painting's function, context, style,
and design. Van Gogh's utilization of these elements help bring further emphasis to his work in Starry Night.
Starry Night was painted by Vincent Van Gogh, a Dutch painter who was well known for being an impressionist during his time. Van Gogh was born
March 30, 1853 in the Netherlands and died at the age of 37 in France where he actually painted Starry Night while in the Hospital. Starry Night is
located in the Museum of Modern Art in New York City (Van Gogh Gallery). The main point of emphasis in Starry Night is the relationships between a
community, nature, and religion. Van Gogh ties these three points of emphasis together in an exceptional manner in Starry Night. He compares the
community and nature by placing the town near an alluring

11. Descriptive Of The Starry Night
The Starry Night is one of the most famous paintings in the history of western culture. It was painted by Vincent Van Gogh in 1889 and is recognized
as his finest work. This artwork is oil on canvas and is currently in the Museum of Modern Art, New York. An interesting fact about the artwork is that
it is painted from Van Gogh's memory, unlike his other works which are painted outdoor. This painting is the view from the east
–facing window of his
asylum room at Saint–Reme–de–Provence. The view includes the starry sky, cypress tree, village, and hills. "This morning I saw the countryside from
my window a long time before sunrise, with nothing but the morning star, which looked very big. "wrote Van Gogh.
The first thing I notice in The Starry Night is the sky in the background because it stands out the most. There are many shining stars, the big bright
crescent moon and wind swirls painted throughout the blue sky using contrasting colours like orange, yellow and white. Through the swirling wind,
thick curve lines are flowing across the sky to form this spiral–like formation. Eleven yellow stars which look like huge fireballs lighten the whole art
piece by contrasting with the cool blue, dark night sky that contains a variety of shades of blue and grey. There is also the crescent moon at the top
right–hand corner that is bigger and emits an even brighter light compared to the rest of the stars. Next, I notice the giant cypress tree on the left side
because of how its proportion is a lot bigger than everything else in the rest of the painting. It blocks out part of the sky and the village located at the
bottom. The village houses are tiny and painted in the shade. It is compact and is close to the hills and its surrounding objects which makes the houses
blend in and become unnoticeable.
Many elements and principles are portrayed in this art piece. To begin with, the first thing I see and grabs my attention is the swirling wind. Rhythm
and Movement can be seen and it creates a flow to the rest of the painting in which leads your eyes to follow along the path of the swirl and brings
you to the next subject. It allowed me to view the art piece up to down and left to right, as I started from the swirl to the stars

Art Analysis In this piece of art Van Gogh shows that even tho in a dark night you can still look out your window at night and see light. Another

The Starry Night is a piece of artwork created by Vincent van Gogh.It was Painted in June 1889. It was painted by oil pastels.I would say it has a
cool tone to it.By having all the different shades of blue. But a bit of yellow in the painting too for the stars in the sky.It has lots of streaky lines. And

whimsical, abstract swirls in the sky, a medium–thick curved line to create the hills of the village below and broken lines to create a unique, textured
look. A variety of geometric and organic shapes are displayed in thispainting. Circular stars, an abstract tree, hills and a crescent moon are

The most distinctive feature is what I believe to be the gold crescent moon inside a halo of yellow–white light. It immediately catches the eye and
stands out amongst the blues and muted yellows and blues. The subject of the painting is a starry night over a village. I believe that Vincent Van Gogh
has produced the oil painting 'Starry Night' to express his internal emotions while in the asylum in the form of the stars amongst the sky and includes
his spontaneous emotions and mental illness and awaken emotions within the painting to the viewer of the artwork. His message is what I believe to
be that there is light in the darkness, hope among despair and a light at the end of the tunnel for mental illness. He painted 'Starry Night' towards the
end of his career , 13 months before his death. Honestly, I love this painting, it conveys so much emotion, the use of colours attracts me, the painting
has a somewhat bittersweet aura and in some way, this is how life is, I love the deeper meaning and the finger painted like

16. Analyzing Van Gogh's Starry Night
Hello,
The subject of my discussion can be seen in the first link, Wikipedia. I am going to discuss the following categories to the best of my abilities: subject
matter/content; materials and techniques; composition; use of colors; lines and forms; use of space; sense of movement; and reason for preference.
(John Richard, 2009)
This is an Analysis of Van Gogh's Starry Night (1889):
I first saw The Starry Night when I was in sixth grade and have adored it ever since. Of course, I did not understand the components of art I hope to
learn in this course. The content of the master piece is a landscape. I always felt there to be something romantic and religious about the painting.
According to Wikipedia, despite the painting giving the impression of religion or romance, Van Gogh reportedly never intended it to be such
regardless of living in an asylum at the first time he saw the inspirational view. (The Starry Night, 2017) Among several classifications, I would
describe it as representational, illusionism, and expressionism.
Van Gogh painted at a time when oil paint was the main medium for paintings. (The Starry Night, 2012) He used oil paint in a way unlike famous
Raphael paintings without seamless lines, but...show more content...

Brilliance of Van Gough's Work The Starry Night
Vincent Van Gough is one of the most well known artists of all time, and one of his most popular paintings, The Starry Night, is an expression of his
mystical vision. Vincent Willem Van Gogh was born in The Netherlands in 1853, he was a mentally plagued man but in his times of clarity produced
works of art that to this day continue to astound people (Frank P.375).The Starry Night is oil on canvas landscape painting that Van Gough painted
while in a mental Asylum at Saint–Remy in 1889 (Webmuseum). The Starry Night is one of the most recognizable paintings in the world and Van

The brush strokes and variation of shades of color that Van Gogh is known for creates a texture that make the painting seem rough but soft at the same
time.
Van Gough uses the elemental pieces of art to form the principle of his design. Swirls in the sky give the feeling of movement as the wind is
blowing while looking over the town on a cold night. The swirls in the sky also draw the viewer to move their eyes across the painting and look
down at the town and then back to the large cypress tree. This is Van Gough's use of asymmetrical balance and use of variety to let the viewer take
in all the elements of the painting. The different sizes or proportion of the stars, town and cypress tree are all perceived different in real life, but Van
Gough uses size to draw attention toward and away from objects while the similar brush stokes create a sense of rhythm and unity between all of
them. "Connecting earth and sky is the flame like cypress, a tree traditionally associated with graveyards and mourning" MoMA 35). The cypress tree
is the largest object in the painting and gives emphasis to it that draws the viewer's attention.
My first impression of The Starry Night is that it is a nice picture of the stars at night, but after doing research and studying the painting I have a new
appreciation for it. Van Gough in response to this painting said, "Looking at the stars always makes me dream. Why, I ask myself, shouldn't the
shining dots of the sky be as

Starry Night is a beautiful painting, representational in the type of art. The size of the painting is 29 in. by 36 Вј in., and oil on canvas were the
materials used. Van Gogh is using an expressive quality and an emotionalism viewpoint. On the left side of the painting, there is a group of black lines
that curve in waves upward, coming to a point. To the lower right, there is a small town that leads up to hills and then mountains. The painting is set at
night, and the sky is a wondrous swirl of bursting blues, greens, and a gentle yellow for the crescent moon that is in the upper right corner. Lighter
values of blue shape the outlines of large stars in the sky, though some stars are smaller than others. Sometimes, there is a yellow dot,...show more

This painting is fairly realistic, so as far as the type of art, the objective was met. However, emotionalism is also an objective, because the artist
imitates reality, but also draws inward for emotion. Good balance is shown in the painting, I would say it is symmetrical. Rhythm is also well shown,
as you gaze at the painting, your eyes moving around as each part flows into another. Emphasis is shown on the night sky and the great black figure.
Proportion is difficult to describe, as it is difficult to discern just how big the black figure really is. Variety in the mystical castle and the quaint town
is well shown. Harmony is shown in the way that parts of the painting come together. Space, value, texture, and shape are the dominant elements of
art, as stated in the analysis. I love this work of art because I love the night so much, particularly in this painting, with its bursts of light and color. I
also love mysteries, and the structure on the left side of the painting is definitely a mystery to me. I find that this painting is a new favorite of mine,
because of its beauty. It is an exceptional work of

20. Starry Night Evaluation Essay
The following evaluation is based on the premise that art is creativity, popular, and masterful technique. Creativity, popular, and masterful technique is
important because it allows us to exclude plagiarism, biased art, and sloppy. First, art can be creative but not plagiarised because then is is not
original or unique meaning it is not creative. Next, art can be popular but not biased on a small group. Finally, art can also have masterful technique
but cannot be sloppy. With all of this in mind, an evaluation of Starry Night byVincent Van Goghwill show that it is a piece of art.
A closer look at creativity indicates that it is present in painting. For example, going back to what I said in the previous paragraph on how the painting
is unique because it is easily recognizable; this also makes it creative. Creative means it is unique; since it is unique then it must mean that the painting
is creative. Another example is it contains original patterns, this makes it creative because they are unique. One final example...show more content...
For example, the painting is located in the Museum of Modern Art. This museum is one of the most famous museums in the U.S.; this proves that
it is popular. Another example is that the painting is popular because it is recognizable. In order to be popular a painting needs to be recognizable,
so a lot of people know it, like starry night. One final example is, the worth of the painting is over 100 million dollars. The fact that the price is
high proves that it is popular; because it shows it is in demand.Though some people say that popularity does not apply to this piece because some
people haven't heard of it. Yet it is clear that popularity applies to this piece because a majority of people know it; since i have proved that many
people can recognize it , it is in a famous museum, etc. Therefore, we can conclude that the painting is a piece of art since it is shown to be

21. The Starry Night Essay
In Phaedo, Socrates tells of the form Beauty existing as itself by itself along with a Good and a Great (Phaedo, 100b). He explains that is something is
described as beautiful, it is only described as so because something beautiful shares the same meaning as the Beautiful (Phaedo, 100c). He also tells,
"But I simply, naively, and perhaps foolishly cling to this, that nothing else makes it beautiful other than the presence of, or the sharing in, or however
you may describe its relationship to that Beautiful we mentioned, for I will not insist on the precise nature of the relationship, but that all beautiful
things are beautiful by the Beautiful" (Phaedo, 100d). In telling this, Socrates is saying that the beautiful does not exist by itself, but instead, it itself is
Beauty. In order to make sense of Socrates's definition of Beauty, I think that one must understand the difference between the beautiful and the
Beautiful. The beautiful coincides with the visible because the idea of beauty is subjective to the human viewing the beautiful object. The Beautiful
corresponds with the the invisible because it is objective and perfect, and Beauty is a concept that never changes....show more content...
The Starry Night cannot possibly be beautiful only because "it shares in that Beauty." This work of art may not inspire the sense of wonder and
pleasure in all humans who view the painting, but rather, the viewing of art is subjective. One could have the opinion that this piece of art is merely
one man's view of beauty that does not coincide with the universal form of Beauty. Artwork may never reach the form of the Beautiful in the sense that
it cannot be perfected and is only an outward projection of the artist's inner mind. So one may say the artist's inner mind is imperfect and composed of
many parts, which complies with the visible and the
