2. A Massachusetts resident, Gabriel Seksay is a
Fairfield University student studying business
and accounting. Gabriel Seksay, also known as
Gabe, enjoys giving back to the community by
volunteering to serve food to the homeless at
Father Bill’s Place, a branch of Father Bill’s &
MainSpring in Quincy.
With a history dating back to the early 1980s,
Father Bill’s & MainSpring (FBMS) was the
partnership of Father Bill’s Place of Quincy and
the MainSpring Coalition for the Homeless of
Brockton, which joined together in 2007.
3. The group works toward ending homelessness and
developing the workforce and provides necessities
like food and housing to underserved individuals and
families in the local community.
In 2013, FBMS provided shelter for 2,295 households,
of which 193 were families. In addition, the
organization helped 449 households obtain long-term
housing and end their homelessness. For individuals
and families without a home, the FBMS offers
temporary housing, which provides peace of mind
while they work toward obtaining employment and
searching for a permanent residence.
4. Other FBMS highlights include preparing
and serving approximately 135 meals a
day through its lunch program, dubbed
“The Table,” and assisting both homeless
and at-risk veterans with housing. Learn
