3. 5 Reasons Jesus NEEDS to Return:
1. The Promises of God
Demands it.
2. The Corruption in the
World Demands it.
Mark 14:62 "You will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand
of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven."
4. 5 Reasons Jesus NEEDS to Return:
3. The
Vindication
of Christ
Demands it.
Rev. 1:7 “Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even
those who pierced Him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of Him.”
5. 5 Reasons Jesus NEEDS to Return:
4. The Defeat of Satan
Demands it.
5. The Hope of the
Saints Demands it.
Mark 14:62 "You will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand
of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven."
7. Just Prior to the Second Coming… Armageddon
1. Euphrates River dries up to
allow an army of 200 million to
cross (Rev. 9:16).
Rev. 16:12 (NLT) “Then the
sixth angel poured out his
bowl on the great Euphrates
River, and it dried up so that
the kings from the east could
march their armies toward the
west without hindrance.”
2. The Devil will cause world leaders to
gather their armies against Jerusalem.
Rev. 16:13-16 (NLT) “And I saw three
evil spirits that looked like frogs leap from
the mouths of the dragon, the beast, and
the false prophet. 14 They are demonic
spirits who work miracles and go out to all
the rulers of the world to gather them for
battle against the Lord on that great
judgment day of God the Almighty… 16 And
the demonic spirits gathered all the rulers
and their armies to a place with the
Hebrew name Armageddon.”
8. The Great Day of
the Lord
1. Jesus returns with heaven’s armies
Rev. 19:11-14 (ESV) “Then I saw heaven
opened, and behold, a white horse! The
one sitting on it is called Faithful and True,
and in righteousness He judges and makes
war. 12 His eyes are like a flame of fire,
and on His head are many diadems, and
He has a name written that no one knows
but Himself. 13 He is clothed in a robe
dipped in blood, and the name by which
He is called is The Word of God.14 And the
armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen,
white and pure, were following Him on
white horses.”
9. The Great Day of
the Lord
1. Jesus returns with heaven’s armies
Rev. 19:19 (ESV) “And I saw the beast and
the kings of the earth with their armies
gathered to make war against Him who
was sitting on the horse and against His
army.”
Every eye and nation will see Him and know.
Mt. 24:30 “At that time the sign of the Son
of Man will appear in the sky, and all the
nations of the earth will mourn. They will
see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of
the sky, with power and great glory.”
10. 2. Jesus Arrives on the Mount of Olives, and the
mountain is split in two.
Zec. 14:3-4 (ESV) “Then the Lord will go
out and fight against those nations as
when he fights on a day of battle. 4 On
that day his feet shall stand on the
Mount of Olives that lies before
Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount
of Olives shall be split in two from east
to west by a very wide valley, so that
one half of the Mount shall move
northward, and the other half
southward.”
11. 3. Jesus will defeat the forces of evil, and rule over them.
Rev. 19:15 (ESV) “From
his mouth comes a
sharp sword with which
to strike down the
nations, and He will
rule them with a rod of
iron…”
Php. 2:10-11 (NKJV) “…at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of
those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the
earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord…
12. 4. Jesus will defeat the satanic trio.
2 The. 2:8 “…the Lord Jesus will slay
him [the beast / antichrist] with the
breath of his mouth and destroy him
by the splendor of his coming.”
Rev. 19:20 (ESV) “And the beast was
captured, and with it the false
prophet who in its presence had
done the signs by which he deceived
those who had received the mark of
the beast and those who worshiped
its image. These two were thrown
alive into the lake of fire that burns
with sulfur.”
13. 4. Jesus will defeat the Satanic trinity.
Rev. 20:2-3 (ESV) “And he [an
angel] seized the dragon, that
ancient serpent, who is the
devil and Satan, and bound
him for a thousand years,
3 and threw him into the pit,
and shut it and sealed it over
him, so that he might not
deceive the nations any
longer, until the thousand
years were ended.”
He will bind and imprison Satan
14. 5. He will set up His Millennial earthly kingdom.
Rev. 20:4, 6 (ESV)“Then I
saw thrones, and seated on them
were those to whom the authority
to judge was committed. Also I
saw the souls of those who had
been beheaded for the testimony
of Jesus and for the word of God,
and those who had not worshiped
the beast or its image and had not
received its mark on their
foreheads or their hands. They
came to life and reigned with
Christ for a thousand years.”
6 Blessed and holy is the one who shares in
the first resurrection! … and they will reign
with him for a thousand years.
15. 6. He will us us glorified bodies
Php. 3:21 (NLT) “He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into
glorious bodies like his own, using the same power with which he will bring
everything under his control.”
1 Cor. 15:42-43, 50-54 (NLT) “… Our earthly
bodies are planted in the ground when we die,
but they will be raised to live forever. 43Our
bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will
be raised in glory. They are buried in
weakness, but they will be raised in strength…
53 For our dying bodies must be transformed
into bodies that will never die; our mortal
bodies must be transformed into immortal
bodies.”
16. 7. He will Judge the Nations
Mt. 25:31-32 (NKJV) “When the Son of
Man comes in His glory, and all the holy
angels with Him, then He will sit on the
throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will
be gathered before Him, and He will
separate them one from another, as a
shepherd divides his sheep from the
goats.”
17. Jesus’ Return Should Cause us to:
1. Prepare.
Titus 2:12-13 “… training us
to renounce ungodliness and
worldly passions, and to live
self-controlled, upright, and
godly lives in the present
age, waiting for our blessed
hope, the appearing of the
glory of our great God and
Savior Jesus Christ…”
2. Purify.
1 Jn. 3:3 “And
everyone who
has this hope in
Him purifies
himself just as
He is pure”.
3. Proclaim.
Any delay in the
Lord’s return is to
allow more time
for people to
come to
repentance and
find salvation.
