Editor's Notes
There are no magic solutions to tackling corruption related risks
Businesses cannot ignore or hide from the reality that corruption is a threat to their operations and long term viability. They need to be pro-active if they wish to prevent and mitigate the costs and consequences of wrongdoings.
Businesses are looking for predictability and competing on a level playing field – Corruption keeps the field unleveled.
Businesses face many challenges and risks and if they hope to avoid the dangers of operating in high or even low risk jurisdictions, they need to have a compliance program that helps them mitigate and manage those risks.
A compliance program is and investment in the long term stability, health and success of and organization. One can not afford not to implement a compliance program in todays business environment.
Seeking and achieving an ISO 37001 certification provides an organization with the ability to not only more effectively prevent, deter and detect corruption related issues but provides a marketing and competitive advantage.
