Founding predecessor firm, Chesshire
Gibson, established in Birmingham, UK

3. 1853
• A second predecessor firm,
Debenham and Tewson, is founded
in Cheapside, London, UK. -

4. 1914
A merger created Debenham, Tewson &
Chinnocks.

5. 1987
Debenham, Tewson & Chinnocks Holdings plc
floated on the London Stock Exchange on 21
January.

6. 1993
A European joint venture with Jean Thouard of
France, and the Zadelhoff Group in Germany
and the Netherlands, creates the DTZ brand. In
the same year, a merger with Bernard Thorpe
and Partners completed national coverage in the
UK.

7. 1999
DTZ's French subsidiary acquired a majority
shareholding in DTZ Asset Management, France.

8. 2006
UGL acquires Equis Corporation, a corporate real
estate business founded in Chicago in 1984,
establishing a presence in the United States

9. 2010
DTZ acquired the remaining 33% minority
interest in DTZ Barnicke Quebec Ltd, part of our
Canadian business

10. 2014
On 3 September 2012, the UGL Services
property business rebrands as 'DTZ'
