The folk festival of Parintins, Brazil takes place annually from June 28-30. Parintins is a small city of around 50,000 people located in the Brazilian Amazon rainforest that is divided between the red and blue groups Caprichoso and Garantido during the festival. The town is located near the Amazon River, 369 kilometers from the capital Manaus, and can be reached by boat in 15 hours downstream or 27 hours upstream, or by one and a half hours by plane.
