The first message sent over the internet was on October 29, 1969 when researchers Bill Duvall from UCLA and Charley Kline from Stanford University attempted to send the word "LOGIN". Bill Duvall sent the letters "L" and "O" successfully, but the computer crashed before it could receive the "G". After an hour of the computer being down, it rebooted and the full word "LOGIN" was finally received, marking the first inter-network communication.
