Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Tracing the origins of SaaS
Software as a Service (SaaS) finds its roots in the 1960s, with the
development of time-sharing systems. Multiple users could connect to a
mainframe computer using remote terminals in these systems. Application
Service Providers (ASPs) emerged in the 1990s. They offered software
applications to customers via the internet. The ASP model, on the other
hand, had limitations, such as slow internet speeds and limited functionality.
SaaS as we know it today did not emerge until the early 2000s. Companies
such as Salesforce and NetSuite created web-based applications that
could be accessed via a web browser. These provided businesses with
more flexibility and accessibility.
The many phases of SaaS
SaaS has undergone several stages since its inception. Basic web-based
applications such as email were developed in the initial stages of this
technology. SaaS began to offer more specialized applications as
innovation advanced. This includes marketing automation, human
resources, and accounting software. With the advancement of mobile
technology, SaaS has evolved into mobile applications. This allows users to
access software from any location, at any time. SaaS has recently shifted
towards cloud-based platforms. This will provide businesses with greater
