The four candles of Peace, Faith, Love, and Hope are burning slowly together. Peace goes out first as nobody keeps it lit, followed by Faith which feels it is no longer indispensable. Love then goes out as people forget its importance. A child enters and cries seeing the three candles out. The fourth candle, Hope, says it can relight the others while it is still burning. The child uses the candle of Hope to re-light Peace, Faith, and Love. The story conveys that Hope can help maintain Faith, Peace, and Love.
