Evaluation of search quality is essential for developing effective rankers. Interleaved comparison methods achieve statistical significance with less data than with traditional A/B testing, meaning tests can be run in shorter timeframes and more sensitive changes to the ranker can be evaluated. In interleaved ranking two result lists are combined in a "fair" manner, such that clicks can be interpreted as unbiased judgments about the relative quality of the two rankers. In this talk we will dive into why interleaving can be a superior online evaluation method, along with how it could be added to your own evaluation toolset.
This document contains 64 mini chessboard diagrams with instructions to determine for each position whether black is in checkmate, stalemate, or has a possible move. The solutions are provided in a scrambled order corresponding to a knight's tour of the chessboard.
This document discusses trends and developments in deep learning research presented by Jeff Dean from Google. It covers improvements in accuracy from increased data sizes and model scales, the prevalence of neural network approaches over other machine learning methods, and new areas of focus like reinforcement learning optimization and deployment. Application areas mentioned include computer vision, speech, language processing and vertical-specific domains.
Conductors like copper, silver, and gold allow electrons to flow through them, while insulators like plastic and paper do not allow the passage of heat or sound. Electricity is generated at power stations and travels through pylons and wires to homes, where circuits can be completed or broken by switches to allow or prevent electron flow. Fuses break circuits if current exceeds safe levels.

Electricity is generated at power plants using dams or other methods and transmitted through power lines to homes. Fuses protect wires by stopping excess electricity flow. Conductors allow electron flow while insulators do not. Electricity can be alternating current (AC), where the polarity changes continuously, or direct current (DC) which flows in one direction. Electricity is produced from magnets interacting with copper wires connected to batteries.
