This document describes the basic parts and functions of a toaster. It explains that when the toaster is turned on, a variable resistor controls power to the nichrome heating wires. Pushing down the lever completes the electrical circuit, allowing current to flow and heat the wires to toast the bread. After a set time determined by a capacitor and resistor, the electromagnet releases and springs eject the toast.
