Taste buds allow humans and other animals to experience different flavors. Humans have around 10,000 taste buds located in our mouths, including on the roof, which help us distinguish between foods. Some animals like insects have an even more developed sense of taste, with organs able to taste on their feet, antennae and other body parts. Taste is the weakest of the five senses in humans.
