in Monaco as racing drivers took to the catwalk at the glittering
Amber Fashion Show Event to raise funds for the Elton John Aids
Foundation
Nine Grand Prix drivers, including Jenson Button, Sebastian Vettel,
LewisHamilton and Mark Webber took time out from their preparations
for Sunday’s Monaco Grand Prix to model the latest collection from
fashion designer Petra Ecclestone’s FORM menswear range in front of
celebrity audience which included HSH Prince Albert of Monaco, HRH
Princess Beatrice of York, Bernie Ecclestone,Tennis Champion Boris
Becker, Elizabeth Hurley, David Furnish, Sir Richard Branson,
Olympic gold medallist Michael Johnson and ‘Little Britain’ star David
Walliams in the front row.
Now in its fourth year, Amber Fashion has become a highlight on the
social calendar at the most prestigious race on the Grand Prix tour
and the 2009 event was no exception. Presented by Tamara
Ecclestone and the BBC’s Jake Humphry, the show - which took place
on the beachfront at the Meridien Beach Plaza Hotel - featured the
latest designs from the Elizabeth Hurley Beach collection and Jimmy
Choo shoes. Gowns by Jean Fares and Rubina Anjum and
jewelery from Tara Moor, Paris and Rania Kinge, Geneve were
also on the runway . . . . .

Tara Moor, Paris and Rania Kinge, Geneve were also on the
runway, modelled by some of the wives and girlfriend of the Grand
Prix drivers. The charity auction was presented by David Furnish and
the star lot, dinner with Furnish and his partner Elton John at the
couple’s Riviera home, raised an incredible 145,000 Euros. A Martini
Grey Goose Electric Oasis cocktail bar designed by Eva Herzigova
went under the hammer for 10,000 Euros thanks to the generosity of
HSH Prince Albert. Bernie Ecclestone bid 35,000 Euros for a luxury
holiday and World Superbike rider Troy Corser paid 28,000 Euros for
a Geraldo diamond ring.

23. “The drivers looked amazing and when you think about how much
pressure they’re under this weekend at the Monaco Grand Prix it’s
fantastic that they’ve given their time tonight – and they all looked so
great” said David Furnish. “Fundraising is all about creating the right
atmosphere and Amber Fashion certainly had that; terrific designers, a
sexy ambience, and the opportunity to raise money – this was the kind of
event where you can celebrate the richness of life and give something
back at the same time”. Amber Fashion founder Sonia Irvine, sister of ex-
Ferrari F1 star Eddie Irvine added her thanks to everybody who helped to
make the night such a success. “I’m so grateful to all the drivers who
have made time on such a busy race weekend to support Amber Fashion
and the Elton John AIDS Foundation” she said. “I also want to thank the
wives and girlfriends of the drivers who took part in the show for their
help in making tonight so special and of course all our Amber Fashion
partners”. Whilr the drivers headed home to get a good night’s rest before
Saturday’s qualifying session, the celebrations continued at the post-
show party in Amber Lounge, the ultimate VIP nightlife experience and
party of choice for the drivers and celebrities attending the Monaco Grand
Prix.
