Academic Projects
Simulated financial indicators and automatic trading system:
Constructed an automatic trading user interface in C# by utilizing trader API to collect data from Trading
Technologies Inc. and output to Excel file
Implemented big data, which from API, of different financial instruments to predict securities’ performance
by statistical analysis and employed SQL query to filter profitable tickers based on past market data
Applied financial indicators on determining bid/ask signals and visualized the dynamic figure automatically
to make profit in a small time interval
Reproduced the Monte-Carlo Simulation to price derivatives instruments:
Built the stochastic process under Matlab to simulate the random movement of the NYMEX and Chicago
natural gas future prices, then optimizing the time of executing code
Priced a swap option using Monte-Carlo Simulation or bivariate method under the time varied volatility
condition to accurately compare the outcomes utilizing multiple futures contracts
Proposed the business opportunity based on the consequence of pricing model to explain the probability
of earning
Improve mutual fund portfolio management analyst:
Evaluated performance of JP Morgan Mid Cap Value Fund. by selecting Russel 1000G & V, Russel
2000G & V to accomplish style analysis by comparing S&P 500, Dow Jones and Russel 3000
Applied numerous of regressions model and sensitivities test to filter the risk factors and alpha factors
which are possibly influenced the tickers’ performance in Excel VBA
Built up the final alpha regression models and combined the component in the portfolio based on each
alpha and component attribution
