The document analyzes the sustainability practices of the Beluga School for Life's food system and tourism operations. It finds that while some practices are sustainable, such as using food waste for compost, the school falls short in other areas. For example, most food is not truly organic despite claims, and packaging waste in bungalows is high. It recommends improved communication, clear sustainability goals and metrics, and leadership overseeing green initiatives to help the school become more environmentally friendly.
The document summarizes research conducted on the Kho Phra Thong Home Stay Project in Ban Lion village. The researchers interviewed villagers to understand their motivations for participating in community-based tourism, expectations, and perspectives on village needs and sustainability. Key findings included villagers' desire to share their culture and language with visitors, needs for improved water access, waste management, and community leadership. The research provided insights into building a sustainable homestay program that benefits the community.
Fix-Price Projects And Agile – PyCon SettePeter Bittner
You are a digital agency struggling with your Django projects. You’re over budget and you’ve run out of time, that’s the norm not the exception. And of course you promise to deliver all features on time for a fixed budget, don’t you? – And nobody told you this is a problem?

The document analyzes the sustainability practices of the Beluga School for Life's food system and tourism programs. It finds that while some practices are sustainable, such as using food waste for compost, the programs have fallen short of environmental goals. Produce is often shipped long distances and not truly organic. Attempts at recycling in bungalows are lacking. The analysis suggests appointing a sustainability coordinator and expanding local food sources and recycling to improve practices.
The document discusses ecotourism and community-based tourism at the Koh Ra Ecolodge in Thailand. It provides an overview of ecotourism principles, a description of the lodge and its environmental philosophy, projects that support conservation and the local community, and reviews from stakeholders including community members, scientists, travel agencies, and lodge guests. Stakeholders generally praise the lodge's conservation efforts and community involvement but provide some suggestions for improvements.
The document compares two groups - a tie-dye group and a batik group - across several sustainability indicators. The tie-dye group has more stable income that does not vary much with seasons and is not affected by the global economy. They also have no debt. In comparison, the batik group's income varies more with seasons and they are more reliant on foreign markets. When assessed across indicators like social networks, institutions, economy, human well-being and environmental well-being, the tie-dye group scores higher on average.

Digital natives are people who were born in a technology-filled world and have grown up using digital technology continuously. They are always connected through their devices and pay partial attention to multiple streams of information at once through activities like texting and social media. Digital natives are comfortable using technology daily, see it as their main resource, and have different views of privacy than digital immigrants, who are newer to technology and may feel awkward or resistant to certain technologies. Digital natives learn through self-exploration, creating, consuming, and remixing online content, which they share constantly while staying engaged. The best way to teach digital natives is through visuals before text, networking, speeding up instruction, allowing random access to lessons
The document summarizes research on environmental education at the Beluga School for Life in Thailand. It finds that while the school aims to teach sustainability through hands-on learning, environmental education is not strongly integrated into the formal classroom curriculum. Some open-classroom activities like organic farming, recycling and gardening involve environmental topics, but many do not. The school has plans to improve projects like developing a butterfly farm but has faced challenges with implementation and follow-through.
The document discusses the concept of an eco-hotel or "eco-lodge" to be built in Seattle, Washington. It aims to create a sustainable urban hotel that adheres to the principles of ecotourism by utilizing green building practices, supporting the local community, and educating guests. The proposed eco-hotel would feature amenities like a restaurant serving local foods, a shop selling artisan goods, and an atrium housing native plant life to create an indoor ecosystem. The goal is for this eco-lodge to set an example for how hotels can operate sustainably, especially in urban environments.

We’re talking about Vedic Meditation, a form of meditation that has been around for at least 5,000 years. Back then, the people who lived in the Indus Valley, now known as India and Pakistan, practised meditation as a fundamental part of daily life. This knowledge that has given us yoga and Ayurveda, was known as Veda, hence the name Vedic. And though there are some written records, the practice has been passed down verbally from generation to generation.

Local Advanced Lung Cancer: Artificial Intelligence, Synergetics, Complex Sys...Oleg Kshivets
Overall life span (LS) was 1671.7±1721.6 days and cumulative 5YS reached 62.4%, 10 years – 50.4%, 20 years – 44.6%. 94 LCP lived more than 5 years without cancer (LS=2958.6±1723.6 days), 22 – more than 10 years (LS=5571±1841.8 days). 67 LCP died because of LC (LS=471.9±344 days). AT significantly improved 5YS (68% vs. 53.7%) (P=0.028 by log-rank test). Cox modeling displayed that 5YS of LCP significantly depended on: N0-N12, T3-4, blood cell circuit, cell ratio factors (ratio between cancer cells-CC and blood cells subpopulations), LC cell dynamics, recalcification time, heparin tolerance, prothrombin index, protein, AT, procedure type (P=0.000-0.031). Neural networks, genetic algorithm selection and bootstrap simulation revealed relationships between 5YS and N0-12 (rank=1), thrombocytes/CC (rank=2), segmented neutrophils/CC (3), eosinophils/CC (4), erythrocytes/CC (5), healthy cells/CC (6), lymphocytes/CC (7), stick neutrophils/CC (8), leucocytes/CC (9), monocytes/CC (10). Correct prediction of 5YS was 100% by neural networks computing (error=0.000; area under ROC curve=1.0).

Cell Therapy Expansion and Challenges in Autoimmune DiseaseHealth Advances
There is increasing confidence that cell therapies will soon play a role in the treatment of autoimmune disorders, but the extent of this impact remains to be seen. Early readouts on autologous CAR-Ts in lupus are encouraging, but manufacturing and cost limitations are likely to restrict access to highly refractory patients. Allogeneic CAR-Ts have the potential to broaden access to earlier lines of treatment due to their inherent cost benefits, however they will need to demonstrate comparable or improved efficacy to established modalities.
In addition to infrastructure and capacity constraints, CAR-Ts face a very different risk-benefit dynamic in autoimmune compared to oncology, highlighting the need for tolerable therapies with low adverse event risk. CAR-NK and Treg-based therapies are also being developed in certain autoimmune disorders and may demonstrate favorable safety profiles. Several novel non-cell therapies such as bispecific antibodies, nanobodies, and RNAi drugs, may also offer future alternative competitive solutions with variable value propositions.
Widespread adoption of cell therapies will not only require strong efficacy and safety data, but also adapted pricing and access strategies. At oncology-based price points, CAR-Ts are unlikely to achieve broad market access in autoimmune disorders, with eligible patient populations that are potentially orders of magnitude greater than the number of currently addressable cancer patients. Developers have made strides towards reducing cell therapy COGS while improving manufacturing efficiency, but payors will inevitably restrict access until more sustainable pricing is achieved.
Despite these headwinds, industry leaders and investors remain confident that cell therapies are poised to address significant unmet need in patients suffering from autoimmune disorders. However, the extent of this impact on the treatment landscape remains to be seen, as the industry rapidly approaches an inflection point.
