Renewable energy sources like solar and wind power have become more prevalent but still face challenges in reliably providing electricity when the sun isn't shining or the wind isn't blowing. Researchers are exploring new technologies like battery storage and smart grid infrastructure to help renewable sources provide consistent power through periods of low generation. If these reliability issues can be addressed, renewable energy could play an even greater role in the world's energy supply in the future.

More homes are using solar energy each year but we must go beyond current efficiency standards like ENERGY STAR to achieve deeper reductions.

He will have a conversation with ranching, ecosystem, and energy industry experts to explore how the carbon loop can be closed.

PSE&G, a New Jersey utility, announced a program to distribute 100,000 energy efficient light bulbs to customers. The "Switch and Save" program aims to encourage energy conservation and support the state's climate change initiatives. Customers who visit customer service centers or meet with service technicians will receive an ENERGY STAR certified CFL bulb. Using the bulbs is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 40,000 tons over the life of the bulbs. The utility estimates that all its conservation programs will reduce emissions by 400,000 tons over the next decade.
