This document summarizes travel trends in Ukraine between 2013-2014 and the success of a project to bring the sea to the mountains region. It notes that in 2014, 45% of Ukrainian summer holiday makers favored seaside destinations, while only 7% favored mountain destinations. In 2015, a project created a 750mx200m beach with water sports and clubs in the Carpathian mountains, attracting over 138,000 visitors - increasing beach visitors by over 700% between 2014 and 2015. The project was hugely successful, with increases of over 200% in hotel occupancy and lifts usage, and over 1000% increase in beach services sales. Customer feedback was overwhelmingly positive, changing travel trends in the region.
