Massanutten Military Academy offers a summer JROTC program that provides leadership training through its LET (Leadership Education Training) courses. The five-week program includes core classes and electives, and prepares cadets for college and careers through hands-on learning. The JROTC program is accredited by the US Army and one of few that hosts its JCLC (Junior Cadet Leadership Camp) on site. Participation in JROTC does not require military service.

JROTC is a nationally
accredited, federally funded
program that teaches citizenship to
young adults. Leadership Education
Training (LET) courses prepare
cadets for college and for leadership
positions in the professional world.
Massanutten’s JROTC program
is an Honor Unit with Distinction,
meaning we can nominate top cadets
to the service academies: West Point,
the Naval Academy, the Air Force
Academy, and the Coast Guard
Academy. LET instructors and the
college advisor can guide cadets
through the process of seeking an
appointment.
Massanutten Military Academy
is one of only four academies within
the United States which offers a
summer JROTC program that is fully
accredited by the US Army Cadet
Command.
Our JCLC is conducted on
Massanutten grounds (one of the
very few schools that is authorized by
the US Army Cadet Command).
MMA is co-educational and
includes cadets from many states and
foreign countries.
Note: Participation in JROTC
does not commit any cadet to a
military service obligation.
