FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Dwayne Lane’s Skagit Subaru Supports Animal Welfare
Partners with The Humane Society of Skagit Valley as part of the “Subaru Loves Pets” effort
BURLINGTON, Wash. (September 29, 2016) --- In an effort to support animal welfare and make a
positive impact in the Burlington community, Dwayne Lane’s Skagit Subaru, in partnership with The
Humane Society of Skagit Valley, is asking for donations from the community of basic pet supplies. These
donations will keep shelter animals happy, healthy and ready for their forever homes. The formation of this
partnership is part of a larger Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) effort called “Subaru Loves Pets.”
To improve the quality of life for the animals staying in the shelter, donations of basic pet supplies may be
dropped off at 640 Auto Blvd., Burlington, Wash., throughout the month of October. Basic pet supplies
include, but are not limited to, food, toys, beds, collars, leashes, treats, crates/carriers, food bowls, and
blankets.
Dwayne Lane’s Skagit Subaru and The Humane Society of Skagit Valley also will hold an adoption event on
October 22 from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at 640 Auto Blvd., Burlington, Wash. They invite the public to stop
by with their pets for a BBQ and to see available cats and dogs looking for their forever homes. All the
animals will be available for adoption and can be taken home that day.
The Subaru Loves Pets effort reflects SOA’s corporate goals to improve animal welfare and the lives of
those in the local communities where their employees live and work. Throughout October, both SOA and
local retailers across the country will host a variety of events to show their commitment to animal welfare –
all part of the larger Subaru Love Promise effort dedicated to making a positive impact in the world.
