Subaru’s advanced safety technologies are built around three pillars;
protective, preventative and predictive safety. Starting with a chassis
and body frame reinforced to increase frontal, side and rear crash

Black and red are the colours of mystery and seduction, so it’s fitting
that the WRX STI has adopted them as its signature. The use of solid
black from roof to floor adds to cabin atmosphere. Fitted with the latest
technology, including an advanced Multi-Function Display, and
high-tech connectivity, the WRX STI is all about eliminating
distractions and getting back to the thrill of driving. Meanwhile
steering wheel-mounted controls provide the driver with
instant tactile input.
Contrasting red is used throughout in the gauges and
on the stitching of the new sports seats. The WRX

The WRX STI engine has also been finely tuned to deliver

System (DAVCS) which varies the inlet and exhaust
camshaft timing. This helps the WRX STI produce an
astonishing 221kW of power at 6,000rpm and maximum
torque of 407Nm at 4,000rpm, providing thrilling sports

There are three modes: Normal, Traction and Off.
Normal mode utilises the full VDC system, controlling power,
braking and torque delivery in emergency situations.
Traction mode delays and restricts the intervention of the Traction
Control System and the Electronic Stability Control system allowing
the driver additional control.
Off mode enables the driver to operate the car without VDC,
while maintaining ABS and Active Torque Vectoring.
Active safety features on the WRX STI are complemented by
an optimum blend of passive safety features, designed to enhance
driver and passenger protection:
The Boxer engine sits low in the engine bay to help protect
occupants by sliding below the cabin - not into it - in the event of
a severe frontal collision.
Ring-shaped passenger safety cell combines rigid reinforced
sections with crumple zones designed to absorb impact energy
and reduce injury.
Seven SRS airbags - dual front, dual front side, curtain and
driver’s knee airbags.
Front seatbelts feature pretensioners and load limiters.
