This document discusses styles in Silverlight. Styles allow encapsulation of control property values as reusable resources and Silverlight only supports explicit styles. A style element requires an x:Key and target type. Styles are applied via a style attribute and support complex XAML. Styles apply predefined property values to controls while skinning allows customizing a control's presentation through templates.
