A Jewish man brought before the Prophet Muhammad a man and woman from the Jewish community who had committed adultery. The Prophet ordered that they both be stoned to death as punishment for their crime. The stoning was to take place near the site used for funeral prayers, beside the mosque.

2.  Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar: The Jew brought to the
Prophet a man and a woman from amongst them who
have committed (adultery) illegal sexual intercourse.
He ordered both of them to be stoned (to death), near
the place of offering the funeral prayers beside the
mosque."
