STARBUCKS GIVING BACK WITH A JOE
Starting September 11 until Veterans Day (November 11), all Starbucks in the US will be
donating the price difference of a grande towards disabled veterans’ medical bills for every
purchase of a trenta drink between 9am and noon.
Starbuck’s Giving Back with a Joe creates a culture of warmth and belonging, where everyone,
including disabled veterans, feels welcomed. They have sacrificed their bodies and minds for
everyone else. Every single cup of joe purchased from a US Starbucks location will donate the
price difference of a trenta for any drink on the menu. The money donated will go to local
disabled veterans who need further medical assistance.
The company is taking part in this promotion to show customers the importance of supporting
veterans to Starbucks. The company has set a goal to raise over 1 million dollars throughout the
promotion. Local disabled veteran facilities in every town where a Starbucks store is located
have been chosen. The money raised at each store will go to the corresponding disabled veteran’s
facility in that specific town.
Here is an example of how the promotion will go:
A tall hot/iced salted caramel mocha is $4.25, the grande is $4.75, and the trenta is $5.25.
Customers who purchase the trenta hot salted caramel mocha will have $1.00 donated to their
local disabled veteran’s facility.
Please note that this will only be valid from 9am until noon every day from September 11 –
November 11.
Store managers – please note that posters for this promotion will be arriving at all US locations
within the week.
Howard Schultz, the CEO of Starbucks says, “… veterans have done so much for our country
and now it is time for us to give back to them. Starbucks will donate the price difference of a
grande or trenta to local disabled veterans around the United States to help with medical bills.
This will show an immense amount of appreciation for their services.”
By Giving Back with a Joe, veterans get medical assistance and customers get a cup of coffee.
