Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

This is the German parliament building. It has a glass dome. Put funda.
8. 2Q.
One of the most vivid arithmetic failings displayed by Americans
occurred in the early 1980s, when the A&W restaurant chain released
a new hamburger to rival the X’s Y. With a third-pound of beef, the
A&W burger had more meat than the Y; in taste tests, customers
preferred A&W’s burger. And it was less expensive. A lavish A&W
television and radio marketing campaign cited these benefits. Yet
instead of leaping at the great value, customers snubbed it.
9. Only when the company held customer focus groups did it become
clear why. The Z presented the American public with a test in fractions.
And we failed. Misunderstanding the value of Z, customers believed
they were being overcharged. What’s X, Y and Z?

X didn’t have a national anthem until 1931—and it could have taken
longer if not for a cartoon. In 1929, Robert Ripley published an item in
his syndicated “Ripley’s Believe It or Not!” cartoon pointing out the fact
that X did not have a national anthem. After Ripley received many
letters of backlash, he told these upset patriots that their efforts would
be better spent writing their congressmen. This led to a five-million-
signature petition asking the Government for a national anthem. Which
country is X?

This was invented in France in 1816 by René Laennec at the Necker-
Enfants Malades Hospital in Paris. It consisted of a wooden tube and
was monaural. Laennec invented this because he was uncomfortable
placing his ear on women's chests to hear heart sounds. He observed
that a rolled notebook, placed between the patient's chest and his ear,
could amplify heart sounds without requiring physical contact. What

The patellar reflex or X is a stretch reflex which tests the L2, L3, and L4
segments of the spinal cord.
After the tap of a hammer, the leg is normally extended once and comes to
rest. The absence or decrease of this reflex is problematic, and known as
Westphal's sign. This reflex may be diminished or absent in lower motor
neuron lesions and during sleep. On the other hand, multiple oscillation of
the leg (pendular reflex) following the tap may be a sign of cerebellar
diseases. Exaggerated (brisk) deep tendon reflexes such as this can be found
in upper motor neuron lesions, hyperthyroidism, anxiety or nervousness. The
test itself assesses the nervous tissue between and including the L2 and L4
segments of the spinal cord.
The term ____-____ was recorded by Sir Michael Foster in his Textbook of
physiology in 1877: "Striking the tendon below the patella gives rise to a
sudden extension of the leg, known as the ____-____." What is this term?
31. 6Q.
X may be caused by variations in the structure of the facial muscle
known as zygomaticus major. Specifically, the presence of a double or
bifid zygomaticus major muscle may explain the formation of this. This
bifid variation of the muscle originates as a single structure from the
zygomatic bone. As it travels anteriorly, it then divides with a superior
bundle that inserts in the typical position above the corner of the
mouth. An inferior bundle inserts below the corner of the mouth.
This is a complicated explanation what occurrence in people?

known popularly for something else.
She says of it,
“Tom and I had a friendly relationship and I wondered
if he misconstrued my actions. He put so much effort
into it. I felt guilty, like, "I'm such a wench!" When my
dad heard it, "Oh what you do to me," he said,
“Exactly what did you to do this guy?" It was
flattering, though. It is catchy, melodic. It's very
romantic. It means something to everybody --

City. It names me. It's named after me.” Who is she

The song X by Bee Gees is used to train medical professionals to
provide the correct number of chest compressions per minute while
performing CPR.
This is because of the fact that the song has a consistent 104 beats per
minute, which is close to the recommended compressions per minute
needed for a CPR (100 - 120 compressions per minute).
As per the American Heart Association, it provides the ideal rhythm in
terms of beats per minute for hands-only CPR and Another Study
conducted by the University of Illinois College of Medicine found that
the quality of CPR while listening to X was actually better and there was
no pun intended for X being chosen. What’s X?

WEST INDIES v NEW ZEALAND, The 4th odi between NZ and WI on 03rd April 1996
At Georgetown
April 3. New Zealand won by four runs.
Toss: West Indies.
On the slowest imaginable pitch, New Zealand started at breakneck speed: they were 90
for three after only 13.2 overs. Rather than curb their scoring-rate and save wickets, they
charged on - to apparent disaster, all out for 158 with 14 overs unused.
Simmons was later fined for intimidatory appealing. West Indies needed only 3.2 an over,
but again slow-medium New Zealand bowling, backed by inspired fielding, steadily cut
through the batting. Even so, Holder looked capable of steering them through. But with
only five runs needed and one over left, Cairns bowled Walsh to complete an astonishing
four-run victory.
Who was awarded the player of the match in this game?

I was working with Avicii in Sweden, and it was ice cold -- so when he had a
gig in an island in Spain, I flew down there. He played a song he had written
that week, and people liked it. I'm an artist -- I'm insecure and a bit
narcissistic, so I'm feeling a little jealous. Then these people recognized me.
People don't usually know who I am, so that felt good. When they were like,
"You want one of these?," and offered me this plastic baggie, I said, "Sure,
man."
He's one of the first who heard it. He even gave me a quote for the press
