Taiwania cryptomerioides, commonly known as Taiwania, is a tall tree species native to Taiwan, reaching heights of up to 60 meters. It is characterized by its drooping branches and unique leaf morphology, with short cylindrical cones and winged seeds. This species is endemic to Taiwan and typically found in mixed forests at elevations between 1,100 to 2,800 meters.

形態特徵：大喬木。高可達 60m，
小枝柔而下垂；大樹之葉鑿形或鱗
片狀，長 3～5 ㎜，四面均具氣孔
線；幼樹之葉線形，先端銳尖，長
約 2 ㎝。毬果短圓柱形，長約 2 ㎝，
果鱗 10～20 枚。種子具翅。
生態／分布：為臺灣特有種，散生於全島海拔 1,100
～2,800m 之森林中，常與檜木林混生。
用途／解說：臺灣樹木中，以"臺灣 Taiwan"為屬名
的，僅臺灣杉一種而已，它不但是臺灣的特產，就名
稱言，更凸出其特有性。
