Anchors are special tags that create connections between documents using the <A> tag. Anchors contain hypertext references that appear as underlined hotspot text to link to other targets or documents when clicked. The href attribute specifies the target resource, with # used for internal links and file paths for external links. Relationships between linked documents are defined using rel and rev attributes to describe the directionality of the connection.

Student suicide is a major public health issue in India, with over 16,000 student suicides reported in the last three years. Stress from academic pressure, examinations, relationships, and mental health issues can contribute to suicide risk among students. Warning signs include mood changes, poor sleep or appetite, and talk of suicide. Parents, schools, and health organizations are working to increase awareness of suicide prevention and mental health support for students.
This document discusses global marketing management and provides information on several related topics in 3 sections:
1) It defines global marketing as marketing activities that are coordinated across multiple markets, such as through standardized products and branding.
2) It discusses developing a global perspective by understanding social, political, and environmental forces that shape lives worldwide and seeking more equitable sharing of power and resources.
3) It outlines some common global gateways or barriers to entry, including import tariffs, government regulations, customs procedures, and lack of access to distribution networks.
A Global Distribution System (GDS) allows automated transactions between travel vendors and booking agents to provide travel services to consumers. It consolidates distribution globally to allow for low-cost transportation from manufacturing plants and warehouses worldwide to local markets. Elements of international logistics are more complicated than domestic logistics due to more intermediaries, risks, regulations, and challenges of crossing borders. Air, ocean, and overland transportation are used to ship goods internationally considering factors like cost, time, and product characteristics. Gray trade, or parallel distribution of genuine goods through unauthorized channels, can erode brand equity and strain relationships with authorized distributors.
This document summarizes a study of CEO succession events among the largest 100 U.S. corporations between 2005-2015. The study analyzed executives who were passed over for the CEO role ("succession losers") and their subsequent careers. It found that 74% of passed over executives left their companies, with 30% eventually becoming CEOs elsewhere. However, companies led by succession losers saw average stock price declines of 13% over 3 years, compared to gains for companies whose CEO selections remained unchanged. The findings suggest that boards generally identify the most qualified CEO candidates, though differences between internal and external hires complicate comparisons.
