Daniel Bernoulli first understood air pressure from a molecular perspective in 1738, depicting air as minute corpuscles driving a piston with repeated impacts. Extending this, the document relates gas pressure quantitatively to molecular velocities, showing that pressure is proportional to the average kinetic energy per molecule. This leads to Boltzmann's constant and the ideal gas law, relating pressure, volume, temperature and moles of gas.
SUPPLY7 aims to simplify online checkout processes by allowing customers to use a single login and password across multiple webshops. Their goal is for 15% of Dutch webshop checkouts to go through their system by 2015. They plan to enter the parcel delivery market by 2018 and control most logistical movements through their dominant role in webshop orders. SUPPLY7 will also allow combined shipments of multiple purchases to improve logistics efficiency.
RFID technology allows for electronic identification of objects using radio waves. It consists of tags with unique serial numbers that can be attached to objects and readers that can retrieve the numbers. RFID is used for applications like access control, toll payment, supply chain management and more. A survey found that businesses see benefits like improved efficiency and inventory tracking from RFID. While costs remain higher than barcodes, further development in medical and library uses is expected. RFID brings convenience but standards are still being developed and signals can be blocked by some materials.

England is located in Europe next to Ireland and France. Music and dance have long been an important part of English culture. Traditional English folk music was often created for celebrations, festivals, and to accompany dances. Some traditional musical instruments included in English folk music are the violin, electric guitar, accordion, and other string and woodwind instruments. Dances that developed in England include the sword dance, English country dances, and styles influenced by pop groups like the Spice Girls.
This document discusses several initiatives in Ireland and the UK that use angling and fishing to educate youth and promote positive development. It outlines programs such as Something Fishy in Ireland that educate students about water quality and the environment. Dublin Angling Initiative works to improve angling in Dublin and provides fishing courses for schools. Fisheries Awareness Week aims to get more adults and children interested in angling. The document also discusses outreach programs in the UK like Get Hooked that use angling to reduce anti-social behavior and crime. It introduces Angling for Youth Development, started in Scotland in 2002, that provides angling instruction and qualifications to socially excluded students.
The document provides tips for writing an effective cover letter, recommending that applicants create a narrative about why they are fit for the role, have key talking points memorized, and keep buzzwords to a minimum. It also suggests tailoring each cover letter specifically for the position rather than using generic language and keeping the letter concise rather than long and generic. The document concludes by advertising a job search app.
This document compares classic video games from the past like The Legend of Zelda, Sonic the Hedgehog, Pole Position and Mortal Kombat to their modern equivalents and sequels such as The Legend of Zelda - Skyward Sword, Sonic Generations, Gran Turismo 5 and Soul Caliber 50. It also discusses how characters and game styles have evolved over time with examples like Mario Brothers vs Braid and Marble Madness vs Portal as well as Contra vs Metro 2033.
A production company like Lionsgate would produce the film and a distribution company like Mandate Pictures, owned by Lionsgate, would distribute it. Funding could come from the British Film Institute (BFI) as they support British films and have adequate resources to fund productions and help them reach audiences.

Pro Football is the most popular sport in America and has been for 30 years. Because the action in football can be discretized into a series of plays, it is highly amenable to analysis. The basic level of analytics is "aggregation." It produces statistics such as total yards rushing that can be broken out by player, game, team, etc. This includes more elaborate formulation such as quarterback rating (which is a scalar produced from four stats) or third down conversion rate. Taking a cue from baseball's sabermetrics revolution, novel "statistical" analytics are appearing. For example, one can determine the probability of victory for a given game situation using models developed from outcomes from previous games. Football Outsider's DVOA (defense-adjusted value over average) is a preeminent example of creatively using statistical tools and techniques to concoct a statistic that normalizes differences in order to compare individual performance on a level field. The next level in this analytics evolution is "graphical" analytics, which enable discovering and comparing patterns in the data.
In collaboration with NC State University and LexisNexis Risk Solutions, we have developed an analytics solution on HPCC Systems leveraging ECL and KEL that looks at NFL data on the three aforementioned levels: aggregation, statistical, and graphical. During this session we will present a variety of interesting football analytics including our novel, graphical "play-call similarity" analytics that compares teams play calling, normalized to the game situation.

Vincent W. Freeh is an associate professor of computer science at North Carolina State University. He received his Ph.D. in 1996 from the University of Arizona. His research focus is high-performance system software, with emphasis on filesystems, parallel and distributed systems, power-aware computing, and storage systems. Prof Freeh teaches courses in the above research areas as well as in compilers. He has more than 55 referred publications in numerous computer science conferences and scientific journals. He received an NSF CAREER Award and several IBM Faculty Development Awards. He was a captain in the US Army Corps of Engineers before entering graduate school for his MS.
PDHPE is an important subject in primary school curriculums as it uniquely contributes to students' overall education. It promotes physical activity, which improves health and reduces disease risk. Engaging in team sports through PDHPE also allows students to develop positive social skills and relationships. The subject further promotes making healthy lifestyle choices that result in improved quality of life. Finally, PDHPE teaches students to recognize risky situations and protects their personal safety.

This document discusses the past, present, and future of INSPIRE, the European Union's Infrastructure for Spatial Information. In the past, attempts to implement INSPIRE in the Netherlands failed due to lack of legal pressure and funding. Currently, INSPIRE has been successfully implemented through projects like PDOK, the Dutch national spatial data infrastructure, and PoweredByInspire. Looking ahead, INSPIRE aims to expand its data themes, make more data openly available and linked, support real-time data, and extend coverage to border regions for safety and security. Geodan supports INSPIRE through projects and by providing INSPIRE services and helpdesk support.
