The STREAM Personal TV system provides vulnerable older people access to information and online services through an interactive television and broadband connection. It gives each individual a digital set top box connected to Freeview channels and broadband. This allows personalized access to local programs and services with a single button. The system is supported by sensors that monitor individuals and alert approved contacts if needed. It aims to support independent living through localized, personalized, and video-rich information on services like health, leisure, and care.

Supporting Independent Living through
Digital Television

• Enhancing the TV service with ‘always on’ lifestyle monitoring
