This document provides an overview and summary of new features in the Spring Tool Suite (STS) development environment. STS 2.8.0 introduces support for Java 7 language features, Spring 3.1 profiles and c-namespace, Groovy 1.8.3 and Grails 2.0, and Gradle integration. It also improves support for developing Spring applications on Cloud Foundry, including direct deployment, debugging apps in the cloud, and profiling apps with Spring Insight. Future releases will provide more advanced Spring and Grails support, as well as making STS open source.
