This document summarizes a presentation on building trust given by neuroscientist Dario Nardi. It discusses what builds trust, including competence, ethics, predictability, shared interests and goals. It also describes Nardi's research examining how understanding and leveraging people's strengths or "genius" can improve performance and build trust. The document outlines an experiment where some participants are given a model of strengths while others are not, and analyzes their brain activity and project outcomes. It advocates considering how to encourage people's flow states and leverage their genius to improve performance and build trust on a daily basis.

Talent naturally grows trust and flow, and talent is the key to sustainability. The primary purpose at the individual, team, and enterprise levels is to add value to those served and leverage the value of others profitably.

Oil and Gas
The Oil and Gas industry is one of the largest, most complex, and important global industries.
OGDEN
The industry touches everyone’s lives with products such as transportation, heating and
electricity fuels, asphalt, lubricants, propane, and thousand of petrochemical products from
carpets to eyeglasses to clothing. The industry impacts national security, elections, geo-politics,
and international conflicts. The prices of crude oil and natural gas are probably the two most
closely watched commodity prices in the global economy.
In recent years, the industry has seen many tumultuous events, including the continuing efforts
from oil-producing countries like Kazakhstan, Russia, and Venezuela to exert greater control

firms acquiring exploration rights at record high prices; ongoing strife in Sudan, Nigeria, Chad,
and other oil-exporting nations; continued heated discussion about global warming and non-

predictions that the global demand for energy will increase by 30-40% by 2030.

The growth of the Renewable energy market is being driven by a number of factors, including
OGDEN
the wider context of energy supply and demand, the rising profile of environmental issues,
especially climate change, and the impressive improvements in the technology itself. These
factors have combined in many regions of the world to encourage political support for the
industry’s development.
Renewable energy is now a mature and booming global business. Generation costs have fallen
dramatically over the last 15 years, moving closer to the cost of conventional energy sources.
For example, over the past ten years, global wind power capacity has continued to grow at an

average cumulative rate of over 30%, and 2010 was a record year with more than 27 GW of

new installations, bringing the total up to over 120 GW. The United States passed Germany to
become the number one market in wind power, and China’s total capacity doubled for the fourth
year in a row.
Team
With a team of recruitment and headhunt specialists, we are able to assist both candidates and
clients within the Renewable sector. We find candidates with skills that are scarce in the market.

The Renewables Division at Spencer Ogden is broken down by each key technology:
WIND OFFSHORE, WIND ONSHORE
Wind is the fastest growing source of clean renewable energy in the world today with over
100,000 turbines installed worldwide. In the UK the wind sector has exploded over the past
15 years due to the country’s natural abundance of this resource, with the amount of energy
generated by wind turbines increasing by almost 30 fold to 120 GW of operating capacity with
another 3.5 GW in construction and development stages.

Europe is the global leader when it comes to tidal and wave energy. The UK government is
showing its support with £60 million in funding earmarked to be invested in ocean energy
sources. The British coastline is 11,072 miles long and has some of the highest tidal ranges in
the world making it naturally endowed to be a global leader in the industry.

Energy for the future
The renewable energy sector is at the forefront of the world’s attention as governments around
OGDEN
the globe seek to curb their carbon emissions and ease dependency on imported fossil fuels.
Total investment in the sector reached £85 billion last year, a number that far outpaces any other
sector including IT and biotech.
Jobs in the renewable energy sector have experienced what could only be described as three
years of explosive growth. It is estimated that the industry currently employs 2.3 million, and this
number is expected to grow exponentially as governments continue to push growth in the sector
and look to invest a further £200 billion.
Filling the energy skills gap ®
We are continuously recruiting for a complete range of skilled candidates across all renewable
disciplines including Wind energy offshore and onshore, Solar, Geothermal, Wave/Tidal, Bio

Nuclear power is currently undergoing a period of change due to the need for cleaner methods

of generating electricity as well as the reality that fuels are likely to be phased out due to their
environmental impact.
With investments in New Generation III technology by various companies across the globe as
well as the ability to extend safely the lifetime of existing nuclear plants, many governments now
see nuclear power as a cost efficient way to cut down on the cost of importing fuels and stop
them being susceptible to fluctuating prices within the Energy market. This situation will mean
that they will be a formidable increase in the demand for expertise and skills within the nuclear

In 2008 the government gave the go ahead for a new generation of nuclear power stations.
It said it would identify what it believed were the best sites for new reactors, streamline the
planning process and set up a new independent body to monitor clean up costs. Ministers
hope that the first reactor could be operational by 2020. The government have suggested that
the replacement nuclear power stations could be built on new sites not just those with existing
plants
As of July 2008, there were more that 430 operating nuclear power plants and together they
