Dear Professor:
I just wanted to send a quick reminder about the Special Olympics Online Video and Photo
Contest being held in collaboration with the University Of Miami School Of Communication’s
Knight Center for International Media. The May 3rd deadline is just two weeks away, so please
remind your students to get their submissions in as soon as possible.
You can find official rules, sample videos, technical requirements for submissions and a current
list of the contest judges on our official contest Web site or by visiting www.socontest2010.org.
Additionally, please have your students submit their entries via the contest Web site.
As a reminder, the competition is open to college and university students currently enrolled in
Journalism and Communications Schools around the world. The categories of the contest will
include video (Vignette, Public Service Announcement or Music Video) and still photography
(Photo Story or Single Photo). Cash prizes will be awarded to the first, second, and third place
entrants in each category as judged by Special Olympics and the Knight Center for International
Media, with final judgments made by a panel of industry leaders in the fields of advertising,
