Spanish is commonly used in the United States, as seen through Mexican restaurants, supermarkets, and fast food chains serving Mexican cuisine. Several US states also have names of Spanish origin, like California which was named after the Mexican state of Baja California, Colorado which means "red" in Spanish, and Florida which translates to "in bloom" or "in blossom".
