New York State Senator Thomas D. Croci Joins
The Soldiers Project Honorary Board
North Hollywood, California—December 11, 2015— The Soldiers Project, a non-profit organization that
provides free and confidential psychological care to U.S. Veterans serving post 9/11 and their family
members, announced today that New York StateSenator Thomas D. Croci will join the organization’s
honorary board of directors.
Senator Croci, Chairman of the New York State Homeland Security, Veterans and Military Affairs Committee,
represents District 3, encompassing Long Island. Senator Croci graduated from Connetquot High School in
1990 and attended James Madison University, earning a B.S. in political science.
After graduating The New York Law School and completing legal internships with The New York County
District Attorney’s Office, Office of Special Narcotics, he was accepted to Navy Officer Candidate School,
Pensacola, Florida. After receiving his commission, Senator Croci spent more than 8 years on active duty,
earning the rank of Lieutenant Commander, and later the rank of Commander in 2013.
Senator Croci’s active duty service tours include Intelligence Officer, flying strike missions in S-3B aircraft
from the USS Harry S. Truman in the Arabian Gulf, in support of Operation Southern Watch, Iraq. He was the
Terrorism Cell Team Lead at the Office of Naval Intelligence, tracking terrorist threatsto the homeland.
Shortly after the 2009 Presidential Inauguration, LCDR Croci was mobilized to active duty from the White
House staff and trained and deployed as an intelligence officer with a Navy Seal team supporting Operation
Enduring Freedom—Afghanistan.
Senator Croci has also served as Senior Duty Officer in the White House Situation Room, National Security
Council (2005-2007), Executive Office of the President, and was appointed to the Homeland Security Council
Staff by President George W. Bush, where he served until the end of the administration as the Deputy
Executive Secretaryof the Homeland Security Council.

About the Solders Project: Since 2004, The Soldiers Project has helped veterans and their loved ones work
through the psychological trauma that war leaves behind by providing free, confidential and ongoing mental
health services to U.S. Veterans. The Soldiers Project provides these services to veterans serving post 9/11
regardless of their discharge status.
