Anna Kostenko was born in Kiev, Ukraine in 1975 and has lived in Cracow, Poland since 1991 where she studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts from 1993 to 1998. She has had three exhibitions since 1999 and her fascination with different cultures through extensive travels has inspired her paintings, which have been displayed in several countries including Poland, France, Germany, Ireland and Spain.
Frédéric Chopin was a famous Polish pianist and composer born in 1810 in Poland. He showed musical talent from a young age, giving his first public recital at age 8. Chopin later moved to Paris in 1830 where he formed friendships with other artists and composed many of his famous works. He had a relationship with writer George Sand and spent summers with her at her estate, though their relationship later ended. Chopin struggled with tuberculosis and died in Paris in 1848 at the age of 38. His heart was sent to Warsaw and buried in Poland while his body was buried in Paris.
