Snagov is a commune located 40 km north of Bucharest in Romania. It has a population of 6,041 people and is composed of five villages. Snagov is known for Snagov Lake and the Snagov Monastery located on an island in the lake. The monastery was founded in the late 14th century and is the first written record of Snagov. Snagov Lake is an important lake near Bucharest, occupying an area of 600 hectares with a maximum depth of 9 meters, hosting diverse fauna and flora including 16 species of fish.
