Smart Digital – About Us
Smart Digital was formed in 2007 and is owned and operated by Brent Canfield. Smart Digital’s expertise ranges from commercial and residential
security, surveillance, access control to manufacturing Sentry PODS®. Smart Digital also manufactures clandestine covert surveillance vehicles for
Department Agencies and Operations teams and law enforcement. Smart Digital has partnership relationships with Cradlepoint, Axis
Communications and Verizon Wireless.
Brent is a Marine Corps combat veteran with more than 12 years of service, spending a majority of his Marine Corps career in clandestine and
austere environments. Sgt. Canfield is trained in many facets of warfare through training at 1
st
Marine Division schools. Sgt. Canfield was promoted
very quickly in his career through meritorious promotions, derived from merit and performance. In 2002, Sgt. Canfield competed in a 1
st
Marine
Division Weapons Competition. The competition comprised of multiple Marine units in Camp Pendleton, Ca., 29 Palms and Hawaii for both
infantry and non-infantry units. Sgt. Canfield’s teams won 1
st
place in the competition. In 2003, Sgt. Canfield was assigned as a Security Team
Platoon Sergeant for 1
st
Marine Division during Operation Iraqi Freedom, where his teams provided QRF, (Quick Reaction Forces) protection for
Regimental Combat Teams, (RCT) during foot mobile raids, convoys and urban operations. In 2008, Sgt. Canfield made the decision to transition
out of the Marine Corps and pursue his business in security and technology. After his Marine Corps career, his passion to protect people continues.
Brent designed Sentry PODS®, (Protective Overt Deployable Surveillance) after the Boston Marathon bombing. Sentry PODS are one of the most
scalable, robust surveillance platforms in the world. Sentry PODS are pre-configured to provide remote access within minutes of powering up, with
no need of cabling. Sentry PODS® were designed to be a preventative measure to theft, vandalism or potential mayhem. The Sentry PODS are high
definition quality, self-sustainable powered units with an option of AC or solar power for off the grid solutions where AC power may not be
available. Sentry PODS® are capable of edge recording to the on board memory and can be remotely accessed for instant viewing.
The Sentry PODS® are completely self-contained inside of a weather-proof enclosure and are equipped with a LTE/CDMA modem for remote
access capabilities and only require the flip of one power switch to gain access. All Sentry PODS® are designed with internal batteries for power
failover and network redundancy, in the event of a loss of primary power or network connection. They are the perfect solution where remote
observation is imminent and asset protection is a must.
Because the units are mobile, they can be deployed on remote sites, anywhere in the world, giving remote access to key individuals, enabling them
to make command, informed decisions - without delay. Sentry PODS® are a total, turn-key solution for anyone who needs a fast-action, portable
surveillance solution that can be remotely accessed from the web or a smart phone app. Sentry PODS® are poised for many vertical markets, to
include Energy, Construction, Oil & Gas, Public Safety and Government.
Our latest development is Sentry PODS Remote® software. Sentry PODS Remote® is a VMS that allows the user to connect to multiple Sentry
PODS® simultaneously, from anywhere in the world, where the network is accessible. Now with Sentry PODS Remote®, we have a full, rapidly
deployable surveillance solution from the Sentry PODS® unit, all the way through to the remote management software. To learn more about
Sentry PODS, go to: www.sentrypods.com
