Cat 8 need for speed global
Draka has launched the world's first third party approved Cat 8.2 copper cabling system to help data centers cope with increasing data volumes. The Cat 8.2 system provides a cost-effective alternative to fiber optic solutions for 25GBase-T and 40GBase-T installations. While the system supports 40Gbps transmission, 40GBase-T servers and switches are not yet available, so the system can currently support 10Gbps using hybrid patch leads. The Cat 8.2 system offers future-proofing for data center networks until 40GBase-T network components are ready.
