Sky Hunt is a rock band from Scandinavia that recently released their first full album called "Search" and embarked on their first tour also called "Search The Tour". The album was inspired by nature as the band members wrote songs while in forests in Sweden. They were interviewed about a photoshoot they did for a Dutch magazine called "Oor" and discussed the creative process behind their new album, with each band member contributing songs except their first amateur 4-song album.

As the cold winter season approaches us, we
have only a couple of things that might liftthe
mood up a bit, and that is, Christmas, time off
work/school(whatever)and Sky Hunts newly
released album ‘Search’ AND, oh yes there is
more, their first ever, kick-starting tour ‘Search
TheTour’.They are definitely the newbies to
the Distant 6 community but I know fora fact
we are all paralysed withexcitement to get
involvedwith their music because, lets face it,
they are great. Maybe one major reason that
they make this time of year actually exciting is
because they are from up North, please do
think a little higher than Liverpool,I’m talking
about Scandinavia. From now on I shall call
them “ourfriends from the North” and in factI
had the chance to greet them in that way when
we had a little chat. I had met Sky Hunt at one
of their coolest ‘social gathering spots’, in a
sealed off place just outside of Amsterdam; of
course it had to be near England but not in it.
England is too common forthem. But no, the
real reason forthem being in The Netherlands,
was that they were doing a fantastically
creative photo-shoot fora famous Netherlandic
music magazine named ‘Oor’, translating to ear
by the way.The shots really did come out great,
probably because their faces are constructed
extremely well (see how I danced around the
point). And yes, the shots from ‘Oor’ are shown
to the left of you,could have guessed that
already, but anyway,they don’t call me ‘Captain
Obvious fornothing. When I was in Amsterdam
waiting to meet Sky Hunt in a very peaceful,
nature based place just outside of the busy
Capital, I really could see that these guys were
always real family homeboys. The amount of
nature and peacefulness really did not differ
that much fromGöteborg, Peterdid mention
they were home sick form being away for so
long, (awwww)youwouldhave never of
guessed that their genre was ‘Rock’ and that is
what I loveabout them, you know?It shows
that just because someone likes rockmusic
does not mean they are aggressive or mean
hearted or have some traumatised childhood,
they are simple, normal people whohappen to
be musically talented in Rock,a genre withreal
meaning. Any who, back to interviewing Sky
Hunt, so as I waiting forthem to arrive back
from their shoot with‘Oor’ I happened to spot
some fans of theirs wondering around, and how
do I know they were fans youask? Well the
giant poster saying Sky Hunt we luv u, might
have given it away but then again whoam I to
make assumptions? As they finally arrived to
our meeting spot they all greeted me with high-
fives, whichis alwaysnice and Felix gave me a
double high-five, whichis just extra nice, cheers
Felix. I did record the interview word forword,
just saying, so lets get right into it.
“Sky Hunt welcometo Distant 6 from me and
our readers, tell me how was your photo-shoot
for ‘Oor’?”
Peter: “It’s great to finally have the chanceto
talk to you so thank you forthat – Felix: “we
really do appreciate youcoming out to The
Netherlands, sorry it couldn’t be more home
based hahaha” Peter:“The photo-shoot was
really fun, definitely me or Felix could not beat
Linus at the posing though and “Oor” is
pronounced as in “Ooor” whichalso confused
me”
“Ohso after all this time I have been saying it
wrong, that’s probably why they were all
looking at me weirdly when I asked for it”
Linus: “Idon’t think it matters that much, not a
huge difference” Felix: “But yeah it was very
fun and they helped us out so hopefully the
pictures came out decent” Linus: “just a chance
to promote ourselves a bit and we don’t have
that many pictures of ourselves so its good to
have some kind of recognition of our style and
what not- Peter: “Ialso think that other bands
do take it a bit to um extreme with the photos
though, like wejust what to keep it simple.” I
think that’s what we loveabout youthough, I
was just saying earlier how youguys are simple
and simplicity alwaysis beautiful so I agree
don’t go OTT,you know?Linus: “Guysshe just
called us beautiful!” Peter: “hahaha
compliments are always taken well by Linus”

3. been calling beautiful as well? Your new album
‘Search’ tell me whocame up with the theme of
the album and tour, because there is definitely
a theme going on here? No? Felix: “Yesyes the
theme is based on nature because well- where
we all started writing and creating our music
was more or less among the trees and in the
forest, so we were and are always inspired by
nature, Sweden is where we started and
wanted to umm develop, lets say ahha. “I
personally love the colour scheme and nature
idea, especially of course because you some
how translated that into the songs, the songs on
there are pretty emotional and youcan get a
sense of so much effortand time in each song,
whowas he main creative genius forthis
album? Felix: “wellwe are all very creative…-
Linus: “especially Peter, he is the Norwegian
creative one hahaha, me and Felix are the
Swede creative minds which are different form
the Norwegians- Felix: “Linus always has this
thing where he digs at Peter because he is nor
originally a Swede hahaha” Peter: “Always
happens hahaha” Felix: “But yeah anyway,the
album was split into twosections so me and
Linus wrotethe first 6 songs together while
being in the erm studio and just generally out
and about and- Peter:“Then I wrote the last of
the songs so about 4 by myself and then shared
them withguys and they loved it, obviously we
edited some songs and continued fixing them
until wewere happy with it.” Felix: “Obviously
our very first album was not great, it was
sloppy and we don’t really want to count it as
an album to be honest, it only had like 4 songs
on it which was very lame hahaha” Linus: “yeah
you see, we didn’t have the Norwegian to make
sure we were ship shape hahaha” Peter: “För
guds skull håll käften! Hahaha”
