This document discusses the conventions used in creating a mock rock music magazine called TRM. It examines the front cover, contents page, and double page spread for conformity to typical rock magazine design. Photos on the front cover and contents page portray musicians energetically playing instruments to fit expectations. Double page spreads use a dark, gloomy atmosphere and low camera angles to make the artists seem powerful. Bauer Media is proposed as a suitable publisher since they currently produce the rock magazine Kerrang, which shares TRM's target male teenage audience. Distributing through an established company like Bauer could help TRM succeed without large initial investment.

Experiments with water
This document summarizes a series of experiments conducted by students to learn about the properties of water. The experiments demonstrated that: 1) Water vapor condenses from the air onto cold surfaces; 2) Some materials are absorbent while others are waterproof; 3) Liquid water evaporates into water vapor; 4) Salt lowers the freezing point of water; 5) Hot water is less dense and floats above cold water; 6) Salty water is denser than fresh water; and 7) Adding soap decreases the surface tension of water, allowing for giant bubbles to form. The students found water to be an amazing substance and look forward to continuing their investigation with partners from other schools.
