- 1. SKIP-A-MEAL CAMPAIGN A Dramsoc Csr Presentation
- 2. What is Dramsoc? • Strathmore University Drama Society (DRAMSOC) is a university theatre group whose mission is to enhance and encourage teamwork, improve the quality of life by building, developing and nurturing talent through social, theatrical and community life at large
- 3. Background • Mama Tunza children’s home is a children’s orphanage in Kibiko, Kajiado currently with 118 children • As with many children centres, Tunza requires financial assistance to meet its many expenditures
- 4. Background • One of these being to sink a borehole (approximated at ksh1 million) so as to deal with their current water problem
- 5. How do you come in? • Dramsoc has initiated various fund raising activities to help raise these funds • But there is only so much that a club of 40 members can raise
- 6. • However, just a small financial boost from you will help us help them make their dreams come true; dreams of having access to a basic need, water. • You have the power to help them have access to fresh clean water, straight from the ground!
- 7. • You have the ability to make their lives just a little more comfortable; making the home THEIR home! • All you need to do is to join the SKIP-A-MEAL campaign!
- 8. “But how do I do that?”-you ask SKIP-A-MEAL CAMPAIGN!
- 9. • Imagine if you decide to forgo lunch one day in a week? • And perhaps because you want to impact a little child’s life somewhere near the hills of Ngong, you decide to do the same on another day of the same week?
- 10. This is what the campaign is all about! But let us talk numbers…
- 11. • Assume that in the very least, lunch is Ksh. 50* per day! *Kindly note that this figure could vary depending on one’s ability
- 12. 1st day = No lunch = Ksh 50 saved! 2nd day = No lunch = Ksh 50 saved! A week= Ksh 100 saved! i.e. Ksh 20 per day ONLY!
- 13. Campaign’s Timeline Start • 13th October, 2014 End • 13th December, 2014 Collection dates • Every Friday of the same week
- 14. In a nutshell… To help improve the well being of the beautiful orphaned children who reside within the boundaries of a water-deprived home… … you are urged to join the SKIP-A- MEAL CAMPAIGN!
- 15. • This means every day you donate Ksh. 20 only and in effect, Ksh. 100 every week! • Your contribution together with that of Dramsoc will go a long way in assisting the children of Tunza home access clean water
