1. Information Sheet for “Straight Tee Off” for Frisbee Golf
Purpose:
To adequately develop and display the correct technique of footwork, body position and arm
motion for a “straight tee off” shot in Frisbee Golf.
Instructions:
In order to have a correct lead up for your throw, one must take several steps back from the tee
box. (Number of steps will vary from person to person). After you have enough distance in
between you and the tee box, you will perform a number of steps that is to include at least one
cross over. You should perform your steps and crossover before and within the tee box. If one
crosses over the end line of the tee box with their body or feet, that throw will be scratched
and will not count towards their final score. One must release their Frisbee by the end of the
tee box as well.
Equipment Needed:
Frisbees, Official Tee Box (Mat), Cones for Warm Up Tee Boxes
Scoring Procedures:
We will have a scoring rubric that will include the average of 2 throws per person. They will be
scored by using a 1-3 scale on their lead up process, crossover technique, release of the Frisbee
and the final landing location of their throw.
2. Scoring Criteria/Grading:
Skills: Grading Scale: Attempt Attempt Attempt
1 2 3
Lead Up Process: 1-Starts on the Tee Box/ No
lead up
2-Starts off of the Tee Box/
Steps at least twice before
entering the Tee Box
3- Starts off of the Tee Box/
Has two or more consecutive
steps within their lead up.
Crossover 1-Does not have a crossover.
Technique: 2- Crossover impedes the
progress of the throw/Not a
fluid motion.
3- Fluid throwing motion
with a crossover.
Release of Frisbee: 1- Releases the Frisbee
outside of the Tee Box.
2-Releases the Frisbee
within the Tee Box but
momentum carries the body
out of the Tee Box.
3- Releases the Frisbee
within the Tee Box and body
stays within the parameters
of the box.
Final Landing 1- Frisbee lands within the
Location: outer designated zone.
2-Frisbee lands within the
designated zone that is in-
between the outer and inner
zone.
3- Frisbee lands within the
inner designated zone.

Test Modifications:
In order to make this skills assessment accessible to all students, we will have a modified test
that will include modified testing zones as well as different criteria that the student will be
tested on. For example, if a student that was limited to a wheelchair was to take this test, we
would take out the crossover technique and then grade them on their throw and the
movement of their wheelchair after the throw. We would still have them perform a lead up but
not grade so much on the fluidity of their movement but more on the final resting place of their
chair. Finally, the zones would be modified slightly because their throwing motion would not be
equal to that of a student who would run up and throw.
Tasks for Non-Testing Students:
There will be a designated warm up area where the students who are not testing at a particular
time may practice their lead up and throw. The warm up area will be the exact length of the
lead and tee box so the students can practice on their lead up, crossover and finally their
release of the Frisbee. They may work on their throwing but there will not be zones marked out
for them.
