This document describes various examples of simple machines found around a person's home, including gears, inclined planes, levers, pulleys, screws, wedges, wheels and axles, and compound machines. Locations mentioned include the bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom, brother's room, and closet. Each example provides a brief description of the simple machine and where it is located in the home.

2. Gears Here, we can see the gears at the back of the clock. This locates in my bedroom. We use clock to know the time. Gears help us move the clock arms. Here, we see gears inside the video tape recorder. This locates in the living room. We use this for video taping videos. Gears help to move the actual tape.

3. Inclined PlaneThis is stairs. Staircase is the inclined plane. This locates right when you go into my apartment. We use this to go up or down the stairs. The fan blades are the inclined planes. As the fan blades spin around, they push air along their slanted surfaces, which makes a nice breeze. This locates in my bedroom.

4. LeverThe toiler flusher. Second class lever. This locates in the bathroom. We use this to flush the toilet, so we press on one side of the lever. The light switcher. First class lever. This locates all over my apartment. We use this to turn the light on or off.

5. PulleyYou pull this rope in order to turn on the fans. This locates in my bedroom. Same in here, you pull this rope to turn the lights. This locates in my closet. When we pull this rope, we turn on the lights.

6. ScrewHere, you can see that I used screw in order to hold my napkin holder. This locates in my kitchen. Here, you can see I used screw in order to connect the light switcher to the wall. This locates all over my house.

7. WedgeKnife is a wedge because it’s cuts through things food, plastic, etc. Locates in the kitchen. Scissors cut through things like paper, and other. Locates in the kitchen.

8. Wheels and AxleThis is a kids motorcycle. It has one big wheel in the front, and two small wheels on the back. Locates in my brother’s room. My brother uses this to ride on it. This is one of the wheels from my wheel chair. Locates in my room. I use the wheels to move my chair easily.

9. Compound Machines Scissors is a compound machine. It made of wedge & screw. I use this to cut things. This locates on the desk, at my house where I do my homework. Stapler is also the compound machine. It is made of wedge & lever. I use this to connect my papers together. This locates in the my room, on the desk where I do my homework.
