SIMBA is a software system installed on a mobile cart that allows operators at an onion packing plant to print labels for bins, cases, and pallets from a touchscreen. It collects production data like lot numbers, weights, and quantities and generates reports. The customer found SIMBA easy to use for inventory management and traceability compared to other systems.

1. SIMBA works as fast and as hard as you do!
In this onion packing plant, SIMBA is set up to use 3 label print-
ers from one touch-screen. Print the bin label, the case label or
the pallet label - a simple touch of the screen determines the
contents of the label and how many to print. The equipment is
housed on a rolling cart that can be moved to whichever pro-
duction line is working.
SIMBA quickly collects production information—lot numbers,
product attributes, weight and quantity of cartons packed—and
provides production and traceability reports.
