summer
Amanda
has
been
in
the
role
of
Waterfront
Team
Leader
at
Silver
Bay
YMCA.
We
are
a
YMCA
conference
center
located
on
Lake
George
in
upstate
NY.
Our
aquatics
are
unique
with
several
varying
facets.
Amanda
supervises
23
staff;
12
lifeguards
and
11
swim
lessons
instructors.
We
have
two
beaches
which
she
is
in
charge
of
daily.
Amanda’s
duties
included:
scheduling,
staffing,
assessment,
evaluation,
facilitating
in-­‐service
trainings,
YSL
Swim
testing
of
participants,
organizing
of
swim
lessons,
guest
relations,
beach
maintenance,
equipment
upkeep,
working
with
children
in
swim
lessons
environment,
supervising
staff,
and
enforcing
the
safety
of
all
patrons
on
our
waterfronts.
The
position
of
Waterfront
Team
Leader
was
brand
new
to
Amanda;
she
jumped
right
in,
was
extremely
self-­‐reliant,
and
was
very
productive.
She
always
showed
initiative
and
took
pride
in
the
waterfront.
Her
willingness
to
work
extra
hours,
creating
and
implementing
new
forms
of
procedures,
and
going
the
extra
2
miles
was
an
everyday
occurrence.
Amanda
not
only
excelled
in
her
duties
but
she
also
was
one
of
the
strongest
leaders
I
have
seen
in
my
experience.
With
strong
work
ethic,
empathy,
and
patience,
Amanda
led
her
team
in
a
very
