Silicon was born in 1824 and identified by Swedish chemist Jons Jakob Berzelius. It is a solid non-metal at room temperature with 14 protons and 14 electrons. Silicon will have many career options including being used in glass, concrete, brick, or pottery.

- 2. EARLY LIFE Iam the parent of a non-metal! He’s a solid at room temperature. I named him Silicon, nicknamed Si. Silicon was born in 1824 weighing 28.0855 amu at 14 protons tall (atomic number). His physician was Jons Jakob Berzelius, a Swedish chemist, who was credited for identifying Silicon. Si melts at 1414°c and freezes at 3265°c.
