Ministry/Organization Name/Student Innovation:
Seed ball infused with Nano fertilizers
PS Code:
Problem Statement Title: Agriculture, Food Teach, & Rural
development (1478)
Team Name: Eco Friendly Innovators
Team Leader Name: SUBRAMANIAN SM
Institute Code (AISHE):
Institute Name: Sathyabama institute of science and technology
Theme Name: Synthesis of seed ball using polymer coated
Seed with bio waste and Nano Fertilizer
Idea/Approach Detail
IDEA:
The idea of the project is to develop seed balls infused with
nano fertilizer to express inbuilt resistance against anti-
microbial infections.
The Seed ball is prepared by sowing the seeds in an
appropriate distance to enhance the growth.
Process of flow chart related to our idea
Technology stack:
⮚ Nanotechnology green synthesis is the use of biological
systems, such as plants and microorganisms, to synthesize
nanomaterials in a safe and environmentally friendly way.
⮚ We use Nano-biofertilizer is a type of fertilizer that uses
nanoparticles to deliver nutrients to plants in a more efficient
and effective way than traditional fertilizers.

Details
Use Cases
⮚ Improving crop yields in areas with poor soil quality:
Nano fertilizers can help to improve soil quality and provide
crops with the nutrients they need to grow, even in poor soil
conditions.
⮚ Reducing the use of pesticides and herbicides: Nano
fertilizers can help to protect crops from diseases and pests,
reducing the need for pesticides and herbicides.
⮚ Protecting crops from anti-microbial infections: The nano
fertilizer can be infused with anti-microbial agents to help
protect crops from infections.
⮚ Improving the nutritional value of crops: Nano fertilizers
could help to improve the nutritional value of the crops and
make them more nutritious for consumers.
⮚ Increasing the shelf life of crops: Nano fertilizers can be
used to help crops retain their nutrients and freshness for
longer. This could help to increase the shelf life of crops and
reduce food waste.
Dependencies / Show stopper here
⮚ Seed balls infused with nano fertilizer can help
to improve the germination rate of seeds and
increase seedling survival.
⮚ It can help to improve the root system of plants,
making them more drought-tolerant.
⮚ This would help to increase the biomass of
plants, which can lead to increased carbon
sequestration.
⮚ It can help to improve food security in
developing countries by increasing crop yields
and reducing crop losses to pests and diseases.
