Idea/Approach Details
Describe your idea/Solution/Prototype here:
• The "E-Waste Facility Locator" is a web-based application designed to address
electronic waste (e-waste) management challenges. Its main functionality includes
helping users locate nearby e-waste collection and recycling facilities, while also
providing incentives for recycling products. The application stores user data in a user-
friendly database and consists of three key modules: customer, admin (government),
and organization.
• The user module enables users to view available recycling categories, apply for e-
waste collection facilities, and check product prices. Users can register through two
methods: self-registration or automated registration via Aadhaar. Scheduling and
rescheduling services are available for e-waste pickup, and a WhatsApp chatbot
facilitates communication for appointment scheduling.
• An incentive system rewards users with E-Points for recycling, which can be redeemed
in various ways, such as providing GST discounts on future electronics purchases or
donating to NGOs. Collaborations with electronic shop owners are encouraged to
boost e-waste collection, with shops acting as collection facilities.
• Educational content is integrated into the website to raise awareness about e-waste
recycling, including interactive quizzes and facts. The project also offers businesses an
opportunity to collaborate with the government in the e-waste recycling process. A
feedback system allows users to provide input on their experiences.
• The project's goal is to create a mutually beneficial situation for consumers, recycling
organizations, and the government. It utilizes technical features like geolocation,
Aadhaar integration, scheduling services, and a diverse range of redemption options.
Ultimately, this initiative aims to promote responsible e-waste disposal while
providing benefits to all stakeholders involved.
