Sigma Sigma Sigma was founded in 1898 at Longwood College in Virginia by eight women. Its philanthropy, the Robbie Page Memorial Foundation, supports play therapy for terminally ill children. Notable Sigma Sigma Sigma members include American Idol winner Carrie Underwood, Care Bears creator Linda Denham, and author Billie Letts. The sorority has several unique achievements such as being the first with chapters in Alaska and outside of North America, and establishing the first sorority philanthropy.
